Under the command of a reckless leader, the main force of the great multitude, led by "Baka no Kanja Noriyori," advanced toward Usui Pass in an uproar. The rear force of the great multitude, led by "Kurō Onzasui Bushitsuke," headed toward Iriyama, with followers in tow. Among those who tagged along were "Hadakayama no Itadakira," "Higekisakagi no Shirō," and "Kōsei Yota no Kotarō" who pushed and forced their way; the commander in the cold was "Kachihadaka Nobera Bōkinitori." Their combined force amounted to over two hundred. With stars above their heads, as they traveled making a commotion both night and day, they boldly pursued their well-practiced trade. Recognizing a connection here too, they received and ate the leftover food. Crossing rivers they came to mountain paths; crossing mountains they reached river fords. Heading further and further west, with the banners (bonden) waving at the front, they crossed over Kōsaka Pass, where they paused to firm up their deliberations, and everyone pressed forward in an uproar. Here, in Kōsaka Nitta, Kasahara…
