と障子一杯に大文字で書き付けて建てさせ、金子などをだまし取り、所左衛門の弟で太物屋（呉服商）の弥宗次の家を打ち潰し、見世棚へ踏み込んで微塵もこわいに踏み毀し、手当たり次第に何でも選り取りにして、十九文代の物でもただで掴み出し、印籠・巾着・煙草入れ・茶縮・土器をばらばらと愛宕山のようにまき散らし、「これからどちらへ行くべいぞ」と辻占いでもないのに、市の四つ辻で櫛や笄をも投げ散らし、「所は五郎兵衛新田ももがうはら（死んでしまって）も飽き足らず」と悔しがり、「そうだんべいにしか、こころいどうだ、どちらの方へ行こうべい、小諸の方がよいだんべい」と俄に真似る主人の東べいがおかしくもしらじらしい。
