一 九月七日 重陽の節句のお祝いとして、使者を通じて例の通り御小袖を献上した。
その後、御内書が御城においてお渡しがあり、御家来への拝領物等も例の通りであった。
一 同月十一日 清姫様の御着帯のお祝いがあった。
一 同月十三日 備中守直方様が赤坂溜池において初めて御屋敷を拝領された。
一 同月二十三日 日光東照宮の御普請が完成し、去る七日に正遷宮が首尾よく
済んだことをお慶び申し上げるため御書を差し出した。
一 同月二十六日 若狭守直明様からの御招請により大野へ入られた際、
御太刀馬代をご持参された。
一 十月十一日 月次の御機嫌伺いのため江戸表へ使者を派遣した。
御国許の御肴一種を献上した。
但し、右の使者の江戸到着日は不詳、同月二十五日に御返書のお渡しがあった。
一 同月十九日 御評定所へ呼び出しがあったため、御留守居荒川善右衛門正武が
出向いたところ、越後守光長様の御家来中根長左衛門に罪科があったため、
御家でお預かりする旨を御老中堀田備中守正俊殿が申し渡された。これにより
御先物頭林又左衛門勝重、大御番香西八郎兵衛正佐が騎馬で、御徒六人、
足軽十六人を連れて同所へ出向いたところ、長左衛門の引き渡しがあったため受け取り、
御屋敷へ帰った。大御番士四人が警固のため足軽六人と共に付け置かれた。

There, Senior Councilor Hotta Bitchū-no-kami Masatoshi announced that Nakane Chōzaemon, a retainer of Lord Echigo-no-kami Mitsutsune, had committed a crime and would be placed in the custody of our house. Accordingly, Senior Spear Bearer Hayashi Matazaemon Katsushige and Senior Guard Captain Kōsai Hachirōbei Masasuke, mounted on horseback, along with six foot soldiers and sixteen ashigaru (light infantry), went to the designated location. After receiving Chōzaemon, they returned to the mansion. Four senior guards were assigned along with six ashigaru for security purposes.
