当月八日大宮村近村鹿島村と申所ニ而夫婦
之田へ出候処四ツ時位夫昼食ニ宿へ参り可
申と申候ニ付女房申候はいまた昼にははや
く候と申候へとも是非返り候由ニ付夫婦一
同帰り候所夫戸を〆切候而刀を出し女房江
切かけ候ニ付両手ニ而すかり候所両ゆび不
残切落され候ニ付逃出候所後より三太刀ほ
と切夫ゟ表ニ出新宅迄参り候所新宅の田へ
出留守之所へ参り服（マヽ）を切死候よし女房は二
日ほと過死候よし乱心と相見候よし
関宿河岸北村と申ものよほとの富家ニ候よ

当月八日、大宮村近村の鹿島村という所で、夫婦が田へ出ていたところ、四つ時頃に夫が「昼食のために宿へ帰ろう」と申したところ、女房が「まだ昼には早い」と申したけれども、是非帰ると言うので夫婦一緒に帰った。すると夫が戸を締め切って刀を出し、女房へ切りかかったので、両手で受け止めようとしたところ、両手の指を残らず切り落とされたため逃げ出した。後ろから三太刀ほど切られ、夫は表に出て新宅まで行ったところ、新宅の人は田に出て留守だったので、そこで腹を切って死んだとのこと。女房は二日ほど経って死んだとのこと。乱心と見られるとのこと。
関宿河岸の北村という者は相当の富家であるとのこと。その家に二十人ほどが夜中に押し込み、家内を残らず縄でしばり、金子類を大金盗み出したとのこと。

十五日夜、下町の淀屋というところへ押借三人が持ち込み、その内一人が召し捕られたとのこと。

On the 8th of this month, in Kashima Village near Omiya Village, a married couple had gone out to work in the fields. Around the hour of the Horse (10 AM), the husband said he would return home for lunch, but the wife said it was still early for lunch. However, he insisted on returning, so the couple went home together. The husband then shut the door, drew his sword, and attacked his wife. When she tried to block with both hands, all her fingers were cut off, so she fled. He struck her about three more times from behind, then went outside to the main house. Finding no one home as they had gone to work in the fields, he committed seppuku and died. The wife died after about two days. This appears to be a case of madness.
Kitamura of Sekijuku riverside is said to be quite wealthy. About twenty men broke into his house at night, tied up the entire household, and stole a large amount of money and valuables.
