物価之義ニ付而ㇵ度々御世話も有之候得共
追々引上近年別而諸民難渋致候ニ付深御心
配被遊候処今般於京都も厚被 仰出候趣も
有之候間此上急度御趣意貫候様被為遊度就
而ハ追々御所置可有之候条末々之もの共も
心得違不致諸物価引下候様可致候若一已之
利潤ニ迷諸民之難儀をも不顧不埒之所業於
有之ハ急度可所厳科者也

一追々新花時節ニ向ひ申候所定而出来方等

卒御指向被下度売方出精可仕候此段宜奉

物価の件について度々お世話になっているが、追々値上がりし、近年特に諸民が難渋しているため深くご心配されているところ、今般京都においても厚くお達しになった趣旨もあるので、この上はきっとご趣意を貫かれるよう願いたく、ついては追々お手配があるだろうから、末々の者どもも心得違いをせず諸物価を引き下げるようにすべきである。もし一己の利潤に迷い諸民の難儀を顧みない不埒な所業があれば、きっと厳科に処すべきである。

一、追々新花の時節に向かうところ、定めて出来具合等もよろしい儀と存じます。ご仕入れの紅花をなさるなら、何卒ご指図くださいませ。売り方に精を出します。この段、よろしくお願い申し上げます。
一、公方様のことですが、永々ご滞留でいらっしゃいましたところ、昨七日にご出発、大坂表にご滞留、蒸気船にてご帰府なされたそうです。誠に近来度々のご上洛、恐れ入ることでございます。諸大名様方はそれぞれお国元へお引き取りになり、一橋様はご在京でいらっしゃいます。恐れ入ります。全く天下泰平の基と、ご同慶に存じます。

Regarding the matter of commodity prices, although we have received assistance many times, prices have been rising steadily, and in recent years the common people have been particularly suffering, causing deep concern. Now, in Kyoto as well, strong directives have been issued, so we earnestly hope that the intentions will be thoroughly carried out. Accordingly, there will be various measures taken, so even the lowest-ranking people should not misunderstand and should work to bring down commodity prices. If anyone is led astray by personal profit and engages in improper conduct without regard for the people's hardships, they shall certainly be severely punished.
On the 8th day of the 5th month, Iseya Riemon from Kyoto departed.
First, as we are approaching the season for new flowers, I believe the crop conditions are likely favorable. If you are purchasing safflowers, please give us your instructions by all means. We will work diligently in selling. I humbly request your consideration in this matter.
Second, regarding His Excellency the Shogun, after staying away for a very long time, he departed yesterday on the 7th, stayed in Osaka, and returned to Edo by steamship. Truly, the frequent trips to Kyoto in recent times are cause for reverence. The various daimyo lords have each returned to their home domains, while Lord Hitotsubashi remains in Kyoto, which is also cause for reverence. This is entirely the foundation of peace throughout the realm, and we share in this joy.
