現代語訳
一、江戸表では越後縮が大幅値上がりし、越後国元では上布縮の上物で五両一分余りもする。紺地縮の長尺上物は三両二分位もし、同じく小中縮の上物は二両二分位まで。その他の品物も右に準じて大変な高値で、前代未聞の年柄でございます。
将軍様は当月二十日に江戸へお帰りになったとのこと。大阪十六日に蒸気船でご出立とのことです。
二十五日 宵より霧雨が降り、すぐやむ。八ツ時に小雨、すぐ止む。また七ツ過ぎに小雨。夜に入り殊の外晴れる。
菜種は五斗三、四升とのこと。府中辺りは三斗七、八升。府中と水戸の相場は格外の違いなので、中妻辺りの者が水戸の高値を当てにして買い立て、府中へ持ち出すとのこと。

四、五日前、小幡並木で板子の者の敵討ちがあったとのこと。

府中は菜種油一升一貫二百文、水戸は一升八百二十四文。
