如何に果報拙き族眠りより起上れ御糺明の時至て汝を避分給はざる
様に今隙ある時に兼て其覚悟をなせとわが身を諫むべき事専要也
尚此上に経文の証拠歴々なりといへども爰には略する者也尊き天の
御師匠にて在ます御主かほどまで御糺明正しき道を直に教へ給ふ
事をきゝながらそれを違へんとおもふは何事ぞ
§四 右の道理に付て不審の開きの事
◦もし人ありていふべきは御右の盗人最期の時一言を以て扶かるに非ずやと
此答へ別になし＊さんとあぐすちいによの宣ふ事をきけ御右の盗人と
いふは其時 Xﾟ#1をひいですにうけ初め奉り同く其時ばうちずもに等き
御辞をうけ則死したるが故に忽ち扶りたり今にをひてもばうちずもを
授らん人其当座に死するにをひては疑ひなく扶かるべきがごとく盗人の

申は ds にて在ます証拠として昔の未来記に書置かれしに違はず
御ぱしよんの窮めに至て日輪は光を失ひ大地は振動し死したる人は活り
種々の不思議を顕し給ふ中の一ッといふは則御右の盗人を扶け給ふ事也

一人讃め奉る事希代不思議の事に非ずや誠にかゝる御奇特といふは御

いかに果報の乏しき族よ、眠りより起き上がれ。御裁きの時が至って汝を選び分け給わざるように、今暇ある時に兼ねてその覚悟をなせと、わが身を戒むべき事が肝要である。
なお、この上に経文の証拠は数多くあるといえども、ここには略する者也。尊き天の御師匠にていらっしゃる御主が、かほどまで御裁きの正しき道を直に教え給う事を聞きながら、それに背こうと思うは何事であろうか。
第四節 右の道理に付いての疑問を解く事
もし人があって言うには「右の盗人は最期の時一言をもって救われたのではないか」と。この答えは別になそう。聖アウグスティヌスの宣う事を聞け。右の盗人というのは、その時キリストを信じ奉り始め、同くその時洗礼に等しき御言葉を受け、すなわち死したるが故に、たちまち救われたのである。今においても洗礼を授からん人がその当座に死するにおいては、疑いなく救かるべきがごとく、盗人の最期はすなわち洗礼の時と同じだからである、と加えられた。神の御子の御出世と申すは、神にていらっしゃる証拠として昔の預言書に書き置かれしに違わず、御受難の極みに至って日輪は光を失い、大地は振動し、死したる人は蘇り、種々の不思議を顕し給う中の一つというのは、すなわち右の盗人を救け給う事である。彼の盗人は信仰を受け、帝王と敬め奉り、万民が嘲り奉る中に彼一人讃め奉る事は、希代の不思議の事ではないか。誠にかかる御奇跡というのは御

Section 4: Resolving doubts regarding the above principles
If someone were to say, "Was not the thief on the right saved by a single word at his final moment?" The answer to this is different. Listen to what Saint Augustine declares: That thief on the right began to believe in Christ at that moment, and at the same time received words equivalent to baptism, and died immediately, which is why he was instantly saved.
