[Left folio]
The solemn adornments (shōgon) of the two altars for the Three Subjects (sanka) and goma are as usual. However, on the goma altar, offerings of sun and moon heihaku (ritual wands with paper streamers) are erected.
The offerings (o-sonae) were simplified in all respects, as recorded on the right. In the first year of Jōō (1652), before each shrine, the following were presented: white rice, red rice (sekihan), mochi (rice cakes), soup, side dishes, fish (with head and tail), confections, and two varieties of kōmono (fatty/oily food preparations) — eight items in all for each shrine, each piled high (takamori). Shide (zigzag paper streamers) were attached. In the evening and again at night, zōni (rice cake soup) and sake were served several times to all present.
9th day: Weather clear, then cloudy. This morning, a formal ceremony (ichiza) was performed, after which the altar(s) were dismantled (■dan). All the various items were put away and stored.
