(Continued from the previous page) ...with nothing more than a verbal agreement, and it remains in another family's possession to this day. Item: Concerning the household estate (karyo) of the house of Okamoto Shimotsuke — the portion transferred to his daughter: when the sole son, Hassuke Ujika, passed away at the age of eighteen, the estate was transferred to his father, Ukyō-no-gonnosuke, and has never been returned to the main family, remaining in their possession ever since. Item: Concerning the portion transferred from the grandfather of the current Kazue-no-suke Suehiro to his wife Otake: since there were no children, it was obligated to be returned to the main family after her death. Despite this, a claim was made that it was difficult to return, and it was transferred instead to her nephew Nagamatsu-dayū Ei■, and although she was only a stepmother, it has been passed down through adoption. Item: Concerning the household estate of the late Tosa-no-kami (father of Hokuni) — the portion transferred to his daughter Oyome: having no descendants and having passed away, it was not returned to the main family, Hokushi. The adopted child Otora (marginal note: the mother of Kenetsu) manages it to this day. Item: Concerning the household estate portion of the late Monden-no-shō Hokuni — the portion transferred to his daughter ■■-jo: having no descendants, the matter was brought before the public authorities (kōgi), and an order was issued stating "transfer it in perpetuity at the discretion of the principal," and it has not been returned to the main family, remaining under their management to this day. Item: Concerning the personal holdings (mochibun) of the current Ōinogami's wife (naigi): having no descendants, the niece O-Shichi and also Tatsuchiko were made adopted children, and it is expected that there will be a distribution of property as prescribed — this too has not been returned to the main family.
