(Continued from previous page) Although there is a person called Yoriyoshi who proposed the matter, it was stated that the transmission should come from the ujizamurai (clan retainers).
Today, in the rain, road construction work was carried out from the riverbank near the Otabisho (temporary resting place for the deity) to Natadanabe.
Today, the hyakkunin isshu poetry card set (kasen) that had been privately requested was completed, and someone went out to receive it. This kasen is a painting in vivid polychrome executed by Tosa Shōgen (a painter of the Tosa school) during the Kan'ei era (1624–1644). Since the request to the Retired Emperor (Hōō-sama) had remained unresolved until now, this time a request was made to the New Retired Emperor's Palace (Shin'in Gosho-sama). As a result, the portion for this shrine was inscribed by Lord Konoe (Konoe-dono), while the portion for Kifune Shrine and the rest was inscribed by Lord Shōren'in (Shōren'in-dono).
9th day: Today, the kasen was hung in the sacred registry hall (goshakuya) before the deity.
10th day: Rainy weather. The kasen was hung in the worship hall (haiden) of Kifune Shrine. In preparation for tomorrow's ridge-raising ceremony (jōtō), the shrine priest (kannagi), both officials (ryōkan), the administrator (kimoiri), and clan members (ujibito) each made a pilgrimage to Kifune today.
11th day: At the Hour of the Hare (approximately 5–7 a.m.), the ridge-raising ceremony (o-jōtō) for the inner shrine (okushā) of Kifune took place.
From behind Kataoka, at the front of the shrine, stones were piled facing the gate of ritual seclusion (mono-imi-mon) up to the vicinity of the Shingū gate, and beyond that, sand and soil cleaning was carried out.
〇 Yesterday, the members of the Cleaning Association (Sōji-kō) cleaned the shrine dais (shadan).
