午房（ごぼう） たこ うなぎを炙（あぶ）りて 煮物（にもの）赤貝（あかがい）
肴（さかな）三種 酒 数遍（すへん） 〔その後〕退出
今日、七つ半時（ななつはんどき）に書き仕舞（しまい）也。時に小雨降る。御納受（ごのうじゅ）の雨也と喜悦（きえつ）限り無し。
廿七日 寄会（よりあい）があり、内覧（ないらん）・勘定（かんじょう）を行った。
講所（こうしょ）の鎮壇（ちんだん）の屋根葺き（やねふき）終わる。また棟札（むなふだ）は氏侍（うじざむらい）が書いた。
〔棟札の文面〕
当社御造替（ごぞうたい）の時、挽用権社（ひきようごんしゃ）の古殿（こでん）を建てる。
無上霊宝神道加持（むじょうれいほうしんどうかじ） 神力神通神変（しんりきじんつうしんぺん） 此の壇 神道講中（しんどうこうじゅう）

去る廿五日に、舎利（しゃり）の返答書を伝奏（でんそう）へ指し上げた。〔その内容は〕今度は万事御勘略（ごかんりゃく）〔＝御倹約〕に就き、御神宝（ごしんぽう）・社家（しゃけ）の儲（もうけ）諸色（しょしょく）を省略（しょうりゃく）せしめ候。之に依り、此の度は舎利の儀も止め申し候、と〔いう趣旨である〕。この心にて文言（もんごん）は相違あれども、先（まず）その心也。
また、新宮（しんぐう）・太田（おおた）の当社の風記（ほのぎ）の宣旨（せんじ）は、寛永（かんえい）〔以下次ページへ続く〕

Today, at half past the seventh hour (approximately 5:00 p.m.), the writing was completed. At that moment, light rain fell. [This was taken as] a rain of divine acceptance (go-nōju), and there was boundless joy.
27th Day: A meeting (yoriai) was held, and an inspection (nairan) and accounting (kanjō) were conducted.
The roofing of the chidan (ritual foundation platform) at the kōsho (lecture hall) was completed. Furthermore, the ridgepole plaque (munafuda) was written by the ujizamurai (clan warrior retainer).

At the time of the honorable reconstruction (gozōtai) of this shrine, the old hall of the Hikiyō-gonsha is to be built.

On the 25th of last month, the written reply regarding the sacred relics (shari) was submitted to the Tensō (court liaison officer). [The content was as follows:] This time, in light of comprehensive retrenchment (go-kanryaku), the sacred treasures (go-shinpō) and the various revenues and articles pertaining to the shrine families (shake) are to be curtailed. Therefore, on this occasion, the matter of the sacred relics (shari) is also to be suspended. The precise wording differs [from this summary], but this is the gist of it.
Furthermore, regarding the senjī (imperial decree) for the fūki (honogi, land register/boundary record) of Shingū and Ōta pertaining to this shrine, [it dates from] the Kan'ei era (1624–1644)... [Continues on the next page]
