(Regarding the shrines of each [family], the matter of the shrine ceremonies concerns the purport that the enshrinement transfer [sengū] should be duly performed. The Head Priest [kannagi] stated that this would be most appropriate, and that if precedents were to be submitted and reported, there would be no need for further detail, and it was regarded as an auspicious matter. The precedents were recorded to the right [on the previous page].) Those of the Seven Families [Shichike-shū] who attended were: Ho (Yorihisa?), Yorihisa, and Shigetomi. Those who did not attend were: Korehisa, Norihisa, Narihisa, and Yorihei. Suetsū and Norihisa [Michihisa] were sent as messengers to make inquiries. Next, from the surplus silver [余銀] from the current construction project, the following items were to be repaired or provided: the court robes [hō] for the costumes worn at the horse races [競馬] and by those below the steps [kaidanka]; the court robes for the ceremonial attire of the officiating Head Priest; the sleeves [sode] for the Right Side [performers]; as well as the divided skirts [sashinuki] and formal robes [daimon] of Shizuri cloth worn on the first day of the month; and the repair of equipment for the Sacred Dengaku performance [O-dengaku]. All of these were to be attended to together. The assembled opinion [shūhyō] stated: The matter of the Shizuri-cloth formal-robe sashinuki [divided skirts] for the first day of the month has, since ancient times, been a duty borne by the Head Priest as part of his expected responsibilities [mōke no yaku]. If that is so, should the formal robes [daimon] of the Commissioner's Deputies [shoshidai] and their successive deputies [mokudai] also be provided? Furthermore, it would be natural for the other shrine officials [shashi-shū] to wish for sashinuki as well. In particular, in recent years, it is said that shrine official landholdings [shashoku-ryō] were established, and five koku was allocated as a gratuity [wairo-ryō]...
