[On the precedent from the Kan'ei era:] During the Kan'ei era (1624–1644), [the imperial decree] was received before the deity at Kifune Shrine. This too was due to the fact that the person who came as the imperial decree messenger had, in a private and informal manner, conveyed a request that [the decree] be received at Kamo [Shrine]. [Regarding the senjī for Fūki (Honogi) of Shingū, Ōta, and the current shrine:] The senjī (imperial decrees) pertaining to the Fūki (Honogi) records of Shingū, Ōta, and the current shrine were not brought today. The dates recorded in the senjī registry (senjī mokuroku) are as follows: - Main Shrine (Hongū), Grand Relocation Ceremony (Shō-sengū): 16th and 17th day of the 9th month, both days at the Hour of the Dog (approx. 7–9 pm) - Kataoka Shrine: 27th day of the same [month], Hour of the Dog; 28th day, Hour of the Dog - Kifune Shrine: 23rd day of the same month, Hour of the Boar (approx. 9–11 pm) - [And] 25th day, Hour of the Dog [Regarding gratuities to be sent at a later date:] At a later date, the following gifts were to be sent: - To the imperial decree messenger (senjī-tsukai): 50 hiki - To the accompanying messenger (soetsutsukai): 30 hiki - To the ritual priest (hafuri) who carried the viewing box (ranbako): 20 hiki These were to be dispatched. However, the instruction was given that these should be brought to and handed over through the Kanmu office (官務方, the administrative authority of the shrine-temple complex). [Announcement at the evening assembly:] As evening fell, a gathering (yoriai) was held, at which the following was announced: "This morning, Korihisa and Yasukata visited the Transmission Official (Tensō) and made a report. [We have received an instruction] that a written memorandum be submitted." In accordance with this, a written memorandum (kōjō-oboye) was submitted at the entrance hall (genkan), reading as follows: "Regarding the matter of the relic offering ceremony (Shari-kuyō) at the time of the Grand Relocation of Kamo Shrine, upon inquiry to the group of officiating monks (gusō-jū), five precedents (kanrei) were compiled and presented. Without fail [...]" [Continued on the next page]
