The 26th Day: Light rain, then clearing with some cloudiness. A gathering was held at the same location (the pilgrimage lodge). Mori Ukyō, who had come down to offer formal thanks to Edo, was earnestly invited to assist, but firmly declined. Nevertheless, since he was senior in years to the head priest (negi) and the officiating priest (hafuri), it was argued that it would be appropriate for him to participate as an elder this time, and various requests were made, ultimately reaching a general resolution. Regarding Kibune Negi Narihisa, it was decided that he would participate in the spirit of offering formal thanks on behalf of Kibune Shrine. As for the ujibito (shrine community members), since Kurando no jō Yasumori held the post of construction magistrate (zōei bugyō), the matter was settled after careful deliberation.
It was reported that two days hence, on the 28th, two performers would be brought along to travel to Edo to present formal thanks to the Honorable Authorities (the Shogunate).
The 27th Day: Clear skies. Formal enshrinement ceremony (Shōsengū) at Kataoka Shrine.
《Interlinear note: The negi role was filled by Narihisa, acting as deputy for Junpei; the hafuri role by Hisa》
The master officiant (shishoku) for the enshrinement ceremony was Narihisa.
First, a purification ritual (kiyoharae) was conducted by the Bureau of Divination (Onmyōryō) the day before, and the daily offerings (nisshiku) were presented before noon.
《Interlinear note: Same as the regular offerings at the main shrine. Placed on two eight-legged stands (hassoku-ni)》
Next, five ujibito who were in retreat (sankō) assisted in decorating the inner sanctuary (naijin). Tōne (shrine officials) and jinnin (shrine servants) were called to hang white curtains (shiromaku) and decorative hangings (maku). One panel of white curtain was stretched from the end of the sacred fence (tamagaki) at Kataoka's main shrine all the way to Suō Shrine, and behind that, two panels were hung around the rear of the temporary shrine (kariden). Furthermore, curtains were stretched from the northeastern pillar of Kataoka Bridge to approximately one ken (about 1.8 meters) in front of Suō Shrine.
