[Continuing from the previous page, after bringing the sword from the inner sanctuary of the temporary shrine to the main shrine:] The halberd, bow, offerings (nusa/hei), and large vessels (ōhei) are taken out and handed to the ujibito (clan people/shrine attendants). However, after handing over these items, the sword is then brought. Next, the ujibito transmit these items, and the two officials (ryōkan) enter the inner sanctuary, receive them, and place them within. Next, the garden fires (niwabi) are lit. Next, the kannagi (shrine chief) performs the offering of nusa (hōhei). These offerings and purification rites are prepared in advance, privately. Next, the sacred provisions (onryō) for the inner and outer sanctuaries are presented: first, toso (spiced sake) and byakusan (medicinal powder) [offered three times, using two cups and a round tray], next, rice offerings (tsukune-ryō, two portions), next, sea bream [salted, four pieces each placed on earthenware with shell lining], next, hitokuchimono (a single-bite delicacy) [one earthenware vessel with shell lining]. The provisions for the outer sanctuary are presented on eight-legged tables, following the same format as the daily offerings of the main shrine [□]. A naorai (post-ritual feast) was held at the chōya (administrative building). Today, Kubogata of the shiki (administrative office) was to travel to Edo to pay formal respects. It was determined that three people—Korehisa, Narihisa, and Kubomori—would attend. Upon inquiry, it was conveyed that they should visit Lord Aki and Lord Tamba, and return on the first day of the month to receive a reply. The 29th day: The main sengū (shrine relocation ceremony) of Ōta Shrine was held at the Hour of the Dog (around 7–9 PM). The main sengū of Nara Shrine and Ujigami Shrine—three shrines in total—was performed. There was a brief shower of passing rain (shigure), but it did not fall during the ceremony itself. The ritual procedure was the same as before. During this, the sacred lock (御鎖) of the temporary shrine was somewhat rough and inferior in quality, and therefore [the text continues on the next page].
