[Continuing from the previous page: Because the sacred lock of the temporary shrine was of poor quality,] it could not be opened. The sacred halberd (mihoko) could not be inserted [into the lock mechanism] and, having been forced in, could not be removed; hands could not reach properly to the center of the sacred space (goshōchū), causing considerable difficulty. As the eight-legged tables were too narrow, an attempt was made to set out all of the daily sacred offerings (hinoryō) of the main shrine without exception, which caused difficulty at the time of the presentation of offerings. [Memorandum:] Half of the trays and ceramic vessels should be supported against the doors; the o-hase and honda [types of vessels or offerings] are to be stacked and stored, to be presented when the time comes. Since the sacred serving table (odaiban) of the outer sanctuary of Ujigami Shrine was stolen covertly, [one] from Sawada Shrine should be borrowed [for use]. After the sengū, one [table] each is to be placed at shrines other than Kataoka Shrine and Nara Shrine, and one is to be stored in the Takakura or Azekura [storehouse] as a reserve. The last day of the month [Misoka]: A gathering of the rōjaku-kai (assembly of elders and youth) was held. However, there was no accounting of expenses, and the sata-nin (administrator/official) had not a moment's spare time. Having declined [to participate] on the 27th as well and having received permission to be excused, the inquiry was merely as to whether or not such an excuse might also be granted for the rōjaku [assembly]. Regarding the matter of who was to travel to Edo on the 28th of last month to pay formal respects, a written list of names was submitted to the Go-kōgi (the Tokugawa shogunate). Mori Korehisa [was listed] on behalf of Kibune [Shrine], and Tomino Narihisa [was listed as...the text continues on the next page].
