[Conclusion of previous matter]
[Matters Outside the Regular Deliberation (Additional Agenda Items)]
It was unclear who had been entrusted with the sacred key of the inner shrine (Oku-no-miya) of Kibune Shrine. The matter remained unknown until the deadline of the twenty-third day, when the inner sanctuary was to be decorated; it was then reported that Mori Ukyō had brought it. It appears that during the Kan'ei era (1624–1644), the shrine priest had taken and kept it. The keys for the secondary shrines (massha) were kept by the deputy administrators (daikan) up to the rank of the secondary shrine (Gon-sha). From Kanbun 5 (1665) onward, the keys were held among the eight shrine maidens (miko). Henceforth, a thorough investigation shall be conducted [remainder unclear due to damaged text].
[Regarding the Shrine Relocation (Sengū)]
After lighting fires at night, from the old shrine building (Ko-goten), a person named Narikahisa (or "Hisanari," the reading is uncertain) — the officiant of the sengū — made three trips transporting [sacred objects]. One was the御正体 (go-shōtai, the sacred image/divine body), and the second was something else. During the daytime decoration ceremony, there were only three people — Korehisa, Shokhisa, and Narikahisa — and no others. Each, while others were eating, slipped away unnoticed by others to perform their duties. The shrine priest Hokaso (name uncertain) was reportedly unaware of this. As for the sacred sutras, relics (舎利), and other items, they were removed from the main shrine, the eight subsidiary shrines, and all the branch shrines. Yesterday, seven reliquary stūpas (舎利塔) — one for each of the seven shrines — were brought to the Shinpō-ya (treasure repository), along with those belonging to the main shrine and the secondary shrine (Gon-den). This time, for the first time, plain wooden boxes (shiro-ki no hako) were prepared and fitted with metal locks and chains.
