驚嘆すべき大将の意見があって、挙動も、また軍勢を指揮することも、等しく相似ているものは、「プロイセン」国王の嫡子にして「ドイツ」国の王位を踏むべき「皇太子フリードリヒ・ヴィルヘルム」である。○「皇太子」は一千八百三十一年第十月十八日に生まれた。そして、すべて「プロイセン」国の諸公の要求するところである学術と兵学との教育を受けた。○また勉強の学者であって、特に理学を好む。○近来「フォン・モルトケ」の学生となって、練兵の術と戦略との教えを受ける。ついに奥義を極めて実地に行い得るようになった。
