(Continuing from the previous page) We received the folded document (折紙) and returned. The following day, we brought it to Sōkokuji temple to present it to Lord Murai (Murai Sadakatsu). We were made to wait for approximately three hours, and in the evening, Lord Sukezaemon and Lord Kyūsai appeared bearing the document, stating that "Murai too will act in accordance with this folded document." They assured us there was nothing to worry about. We expressed our deep gratitude — "This is truly an undeserved honor" — and were about to depart when we were called back. Upon returning, we were told: "Please bring the agreed-upon items (silver, etc.) from the previous arrangement." As we had no knowledge of the matter ourselves, we replied that we would return and inform everyone, and took our leave. Upon reporting back, everyone was unanimously satisfied.
Item: Regarding Kifune Mountain — though in an earlier dispute a claim was brought against us, the matter was duly investigated and it was established beyond all doubt that the right lay with us. As such, no matter who may come to petition you on this matter, it must not be accepted. Please continue to administer the matter as it has always been. This point is of the utmost importance. Respectfully submitted.

Shrine Community
Having obtained this document on our own initiative and presented it to the entire shrine community, we then brought it to Lord Murai on the eighteenth of the same month. We were granted an audience with both Lord Murai Sukezaemon and Lord Kyūsai. After waiting from the hour of the Fourth Bell in the morning (approximately 10 a.m.) until the hour of the Seventh Bell (approximately 4 p.m.), they viewed the document and stated: "The document has been reviewed. In accordance with this, Murai shall also issue a document." We accepted this and were about to depart when the two called us back again. Returning, we were told: "Should the previously agreed-upon items (silver, etc.) be duly prepared, we shall issue a document accordingly." As we had no personal knowledge of this arrangement, we replied that we would return and convey the matter to everyone, and took our leave. Everyone expressed the utmost satisfaction upon hearing the news. Subsequently, the silver was duly prepared and submitted on the twenty-ninth day of the twelfth month.
