 方々狼藉武士等濫  吹如元可備進神事  用途若不恐神威不  用 院 宣慥可処重  科之状如件   寿永三年四月廿四日    正四位下源朝臣判  文治二年判物  下山城国《割書:森本郷 水主郷 冨野郷|奈嶋郷 草内郷 奈木郷》   可令停止旁武士狼藉仕先例勤仕神役事  右件所々は賀茂別雷社領也而近日面々  武士寄事於左右任自由企濫妨之間恒例臨  時所役及闕如云々早停止旁狼藉可  令勤仕本役之状如件    文治二年九月五日頼朝御判   寛元二年判物  賀茂別雷社領石見国文永庄守護所ノ使

現代語訳

方々の狼藉(ろうぜき)武士らの濫吹(らんすい)〔不法な行為〕を停止させ、元のように神事の用途(費用・物資)を備え進めるべきこと。もし神威を恐れず、院宣(いんぜん)を用いない場合は、必ず重科(じゅうか・重い罰)に処すべきである旨、件のごとし。   寿永三年(1184年)四月二十四日    正四位下 源朝臣 判 --- 文治二年(1186年) 判物 山城国に下す 【割書:森本郷 水主郷 冨野郷/奈嶋郷 草内郷 奈木郷】  方々(ほうぼう)の武士らの狼藉を停止させ、先例のとおり神役(じんやく)を勤仕(きんし)させるべき事。 右、件の所々は賀茂別雷社の社領である。しかるに近日(最近)、面々の武士らが、あれこれと口実を設けて、自由(勝手)に濫妨(らんぼう・不法な妨害)を企てているため、恒例(定期的)・臨時の所役(しょやく・賦役・負担)が欠如(けつじょ・滞り)に及んでいるとのことである。速やかに方々の狼藉を停止させ、本役(もとの役務)を勤仕させるべき旨、件のごとし。    文治二年(1186年)九月五日 頼朝 御判 --- 寛元二年(1244年) 判物 賀茂別雷社領 石見国(いわみのくに)文永庄(ぶんえいのしょう)の守護所の使〔以下次頁へ続く〕

The various warrior bands that have been engaging in lawless behavior and unauthorized acts (ranzui) shall be ordered to cease, and provisions for shrine rites and ceremonies (jinji yōto) shall be supplied as before. Should anyone fail to fear the divine authority of the shrine and disregard this Imperial Retired Sovereign's Directive (inzen), they shall assuredly be subjected to severe punishment (jūka). As stated above.   Twenty-fourth day of the fourth month of Juei 3 (1184)    Junior Fourth Rank, Lower Grade — Minamoto no Ason — [seal] --- **Sealed Document of Bunji 2 (1186)** Issued to Yamashiro Province — [marginal notation: Morimoto-gō / Mizunushi-gō / Tomino-gō / Nashima-gō / Kusauchi-gō / Nagi-gō] **Concerning the matter of ordering the cessation of lawless acts by warrior bands on all sides, and the performance of shrine duties (jin'yaku) in accordance with precedent.** The aforementioned locations are all landholdings of Kamo Wakeikazuchi Shrine. However, in recent times, various warriors, seizing upon one pretext or another, have at their own discretion been undertaking unlawful interference and obstruction (ranbō), as a result of which both the regular and extraordinary service obligations (shoyaku) have fallen into a state of deficiency and neglect (ketsunyo). They shall immediately cease their lawless behavior on all sides, and shall be ordered to perform their original duties and obligations (moto-yaku) as before. As stated above.
