一去ル午年社地新道造立之節我等屋鋪地之内をも
　道ニ被成候ニ付右為替地是迄御所持御支配被成候
　我等屋鋪続名所舞台ニ而下畑壱畝拾八歩同所
　下畑壱畝拾歩合弐畝弐拾八歩之所幷右畑ニ被建置候
　借屋表間口五間半裏行弐間半之家共ニ此度我等
　方江御譲被下忝奉存候然上者御年貢諸役儀等
　我等方ニ而相勤可申候勿論右借屋之内壱軒無家賃ニ而
　是迄掃除人壱人宛被差置掃除被仰付候処我等江
　御譲被下候上者右掃除人我等方借屋之内無
　家賃ニ而差置永代無懈怠急度是迄通為相勤

現代語訳

差し出し申す一札の事

一、去る午年、社地新道造立の節、我らの屋敷地の内をも道にされたことにつき、その代替地として、これまでお持ちでお支配されていた我らの屋敷続きの名所舞台での下畑一畝十八歩、同所下畑一畝十歩、合計二畝二十八歩の所、並びにその畑に建て置かれている借家（表間口五間半、裏行き二間半の家）を共に、この度我らの方へお譲りいただき、ありがたく存じております。

そうである以上は、年貢や諸役などは我らの方で務めさせていただきます。もちろん、その借家のうち一軒は無家賃で、これまで掃除人一人ずつを置かれて掃除をお申し付けになっていましたが、我らへお譲りいただいた以上は、その掃除人を我らの方の借家の内に無家賃で置き、永代にわたって怠ることなく、きっとこれまで通りに務めさせていただきます。

もっとも、その屋敷三方の石垣のうち、東一方は自分で普請いたし、西南両方は町普請でしていただきます。このように決談いたした以上は、双方とも一言の違いもありません。後日のために、よって件の如し。

Item: Last year in the year of the Horse, when a new road was constructed for the shrine grounds, part of our residential land was also made into a road. As compensation land, we have gratefully received the transfer of land that you have previously owned and managed - consisting of lower fields totaling 2 tan and 28 bu (1 tan 18 bu and 1 tan 10 bu) located on the famous stage area adjacent to our residence, along with a rental house built on said fields (with a front width of 5.5 ken and depth of 2.5 ken).

Given this transfer, we shall take responsibility for the annual rice tax and various duties. Naturally, one of the rental houses has been provided rent-free, and you have previously stationed one cleaning person there to perform cleaning duties. Now that this has been transferred to us, we shall house this cleaning person rent-free in our rental property and ensure that the cleaning duties continue to be performed properly and without negligence for perpetuity, exactly as before.

Regarding the stone retaining walls on three sides of the property: we shall maintain the eastern side ourselves, while the western and southern sides shall be maintained through town public works. Having reached this agreement, neither party shall deviate from these terms. Recorded thus for future reference.
