Furthermore, showing no signs of remorse for his past misconduct, and given that [his behavior] was thoroughly unacceptable, [he] ought properly to have been sentenced to punishment; however, by special leniency, [he] has been ordered to have his residence and landholdings confiscated, and is hereby prohibited from residing within the town (machigata-jūkyo kamae). [He] is not permitted to wander within the domain (go-kachū). [This ruling] is entirely an act of benevolent compassion, and [he] should take this to heart, sincerely reform himself, and conduct himself in an appropriately upright manner henceforth.
