一依召昨朝摂津守殿御屋敷へ両人参上林重豊ス出頭役
人衆向重豊口上書被乞候処其覚悟無之旨也于時又
役人衆被申候ハ社家中口上書之返答可被指出旨被
申渡暫退散シテ被認重而何れも御前へ出ル則頭方之
口上書読并深谷平左衛門其時分之公事状被読之
重豊返答権祝職出入次第転任被仰付候時正祝之
義者追而可被仰付之旨其後御伝奏平松殿惣代へ
被仰渡其後何之仰も無御座候故私正祝不仕旨
被申候得者平松殿其通被仰渡候ニ無相違候哉
尋ニ可遣哉惣代弥其通ニ候哉与被仰候処郡久アツ
ト答其断可申処ニ摂津守殿左様之義も有之候得
与相考可申ト被仰候ニ付左様之義不承候其時分ハ
権祝職計之義ニ御座候旨郡久雖被申一社日記等
委細相考書付可差出ト被仰付各退出云々

惣代・郡久・書顕
一、召喚により昨朝、摂津守殿のお屋敷へ両人が参上した。林重豊が出頭し、役人衆が重豊に対して口上書を求めたところ、その覚悟（心づもり）がないとのことであった。そのうち、また役人衆が申されるには、社家中の口上書に対する返答を差し出すべき旨をお達しになった。しばらく退散して（返答を）認め、改めて各々が御前に出た。すなわち、頭方の口上書を読み上げ、また深谷平左衛門がその時分の公事状（訴訟文書）を読み上げた。
重豊の返答としては、「権祝職の出入りについて次第転任を仰せ付けられた際、正祝については追って仰せ付けられるべき旨（が約束され）、その後、御伝奏・平松殿が惣代へお達しになり、その後、何のお達しもなかったため、私（重豊）は正祝を勤めない」との旨を申した。これに対し、（役人が）「平松殿がそのようにお達しになったことに相違ないか、尋ねてみようか。惣代、まことにそのとおりか」とおっしゃったところ、郡久が「あっ」と答え、その旨を申し述べようとしたところ、摂津守殿が「そのような義（事情）もあるとよく考えて申すように」とおっしゃったので、郡久が「そのような義は承っておりません。その時分は権祝職だけの義でございます」と申したが、（役人衆より）「一社の日記等をよく調べ、詳細を書き付けて差し出すように」とお命じになり、各々退出した、とのことである。

One: Having been summoned, the two of us appeared yesterday morning at the residence of Settsu-no-Kami-dono. Hayashi Shigeyoshi came forward. The officials requested that Shigeyoshi submit a written statement of his intentions (口上書), but he indicated he had no such preparedness to do so. Shortly thereafter, the officials instructed that a written response to the shrine community's (社家中) oral statement should be submitted. After withdrawing briefly to compose their responses, all parties appeared again before the official. The oral statement from the head faction (頭方) was then read aloud, and Fukaya Heizaemon read aloud the litigation document (公事状) from that time.
Shigeyoshi's response was as follows: when the sequential transfer (次第転任) was ordered regarding the vacancy in the position of Gon-hafuri (provisional officiating priest), it had been stated that the matter of the Sei-hafuri (chief officiating priest) would be addressed at a later date. Subsequently, the Imperial Court Liaison (御伝奏), Lord Hiramatsu, conveyed this to the shrine representatives. Since no further instructions had been issued after that, he (Shigeyoshi) had not taken up the post of Sei-hafuri.
In response to this, the officials said: "Shall we inquire whether Lord Hiramatsu did indeed give such instructions? Representatives, is this truly the case?" At this, Korikyu answered "Ah—" and was about to explain the circumstances, when Settsu-no-Kami-dono said, "You should consider whether such matters were indeed the case before you speak." Korikyu then stated, "We have not received such instructions. The matter at that time concerned only the position of Gon-hafuri." However, the officials ordered them to "carefully examine the shrine's daily records (日記) and other documents, and submit a detailed written account," whereupon all parties withdrew. Thus ends the account.
