...that the marriage had been arranged, as reported to us. Regarding the matter of gifts to be presented when offering thanks for this, we had wished to make preparations and inquired of Lord Inoue Kawachi-no-kami last month (the 7th month), whereupon we received instruction that, as she is a niece, it is not necessary to offer formal thanks, and moreover that gifts are also unnecessary. This was communicated to the home domain, and the Lord of Iyo-no-kami acknowledged the matter. In connection with this, we wish to inquire whether we should send word that the letter of thanks (go-renshi) should be submitted by express dispatch (hirefuda), or whether it should be withheld—we wish to convey your instructions on these points to the home domain. We humbly request that you raise this matter at your convenience. Respectfully submitted.

Item, 21st day of the 8th month: Concerning the transfer of the private estate (kakae-yashiki) in Fukagawa to Lord Matsudaira Iga-no-kami on this occasion, the resident representative Ōzeki Shingorōzaemon (Naomi) appeared before duty senior councilor Abe Bungo-no-kami (Masataka) and submitted the following written statement:
Within the reclaimed coastal lands of Fukagawa (Fukagawa kaibe shinden), there is a private estate (kakae-yashiki) within the territory administered by Lord Ina Hanzaemon. This estate had previously been the private estate of Lord Makino Inaba-no-kami, and after mutual agreement, it was acquired from him some years ago. Regarding this private estate, we have now made a request to transfer it to Lord Matsudaira Iga-no-kami, having discussed the matter privately in advance. [Regarding the Fukagawa estate...]
