現代語訳

弓は長さ七尺余りで、地面に立てると軒の高さに達する。矢は中国の矢と比べて一握り分ほど短い。射る時は必ず地面に立てて、的を持つ時は正中央ではなく、下の狭い部分で弦を引いて矢を放つ。みな決と拾を用いること古制の通りである。射程はそれほど遠くない。旧記録によれば二百歩外を射るというが、未だ見たことはない。

英語訳

The bow is over seven shaku long, and when stood on the ground, it reaches the height of the eaves. Arrows are about one grip shorter than Chinese arrows. When shooting, they must be stood on the ground, and when holding the target, they grasp not the center but the narrow part below to draw the string and release the arrow. All use thumb rings and arm guards according to ancient practice. The range is not very far. Old records speak of shooting beyond two hundred paces, but this has not been observed.
