一、七日、例年の通り東西の百姓共が棟別を相納め、麦払いの残りとして九石三斗余がある。御席三十四人に割ると、御一人分が二斗七升四合余に当たる。例の通り御配分なさるべきか、代銀とすることについて御相談なさるべきである。 例年の通り御配当するのが然るべきである。代銀は去年の格式に合わせるべきであり、即ち二斗七升四合余につき銭三十五文ずつである。
一、同日、酉藤大夫田兼の暇・服の御届け書、例の通り。
一、同日、小山郷の年寄・久左衛門・権左衛門・仁右衛門、惣百姓惣代五人が参上し、この間仰せ渡された趣を郷中へ相談したところ、先達って御願い申し上げた通り、何分とも土免の義は一統に御断り申し上げ、幾重にも御見取りの義を願い奉る由にて、最初の願書をまた持参した。
一、御修理方より申し入れ。修理小屋の内に竹を入れ置いた麦わら葺の小屋が殊の外漏れており、入れ置いた竹が腐損している。何卒葺き替えを申し渡されたい。銭壱貫五、六百文程かかる由である。 入れ置いた竹が腐ってしまってはかえって御損亡であるから、葺き替えを仰せ付けるのが然るべきである。
一、職中より申し入れ。松明は当夏、田表へ入れ越したが残りが少なくなっております。仰せ付けなさるべきでしょうか。 御用心のためもあり仰せ付けるべきである。近日、評議所で薪を整える際にご覧繕いの上、仰せ付けられたい。則ち月番中へ付けられた。
一、寄会に立ち止まる神主の月番・六役の外に、三河守・大和守・筑前守も御相談の義があるので御残りなさるべきである。
小寄会出席の神主：正久・保韶・博久・庸清・季脩・季甫・史顕・普俊・保覚・保土・直安、職中三人。今日御相談もあるにつき、去るころ両口屋能登より差し上げ申した素麺を申し付け、右の膳を取って、その後御相談となった。学顕が披露した。

The order should be issued by the professional shrine staff (*shoku-naka*) and dispatched accordingly.
1. On the 7th, as is the custom each year, the peasants of the eastern and western districts paid their house tax (*munabetsu*), leaving a surplus of over nine *koku* and three *to* of wheat (*mugi-barai*). Divided among the thirty-four members of the assembly, this amounts to over two *to*, seven *shō*, and four *gō* per person. The question was raised as to whether distribution should proceed as usual, or whether the matter of converting to silver should be discussed. — *It was determined that distribution should proceed as in previous years, and that the silver conversion rate should be set in accordance with last year's precedent — that is, thirty-five *mon* in coin per two *to*, seven *shō*, and four *gō*.*
2. On the same day, the notification of leave of absence and mourning (*hima/fuku*) for Tori Tōdayu Tadasane was submitted in accordance with customary procedure.

On the same day, the village elders of Oyama Village — Kyūzaemon, Gonzaemon, and Jinuemon — together with five representatives of the general peasantry (*sō-hyakushō sōdai*) came forward and reported that, having consulted within the village regarding the instructions previously conveyed, the villagers were unanimously and resolutely refusing the matter of the fixed land tax assessment (*do-men*), as they had previously petitioned, and that they were humbly requesting, once again and in the strongest terms, that the matter be handled by visual inspection (*mi-tori*). 4. The repair department (*go-shūri-kata*) submitted a request: the thatched-roof storehouse within the repair shed, in which bamboo had been stored, is leaking exceptionally badly, and the bamboo inside has begun to rot. A request was made that orders be given for re-thatching, which would cost approximately one *kan* and five or six hundred *mon*. — *Since allowing the stored bamboo to continue to rot would result in further loss, it was determined that re-thatching should be ordered.*
5. The shrine professional staff submitted a notice: the supply of bamboo torches (*taimatsu*) used and carried over to the paddy-field work this summer has been reduced to very little. Should an order be placed? — *For the sake of safety and precaution, an order should be placed. The matter should be reviewed when firewood is arranged at the deliberation hall in the coming days, and the order issued at that time. 6. Among those remaining at the assembly, the monthly duty officers (*tsuki-ban*) and the six officials (*roku-yaku*), along with Mikawa-no-kami, Yamato-no-kami, and Chikuzen-no-kami, were asked to remain, as there was a matter for consultation.
**Small assembly (*ko-yoriai*)** — Attending priests: Masahisa, Yasutomo, Hirohisa, Tsunekiyo, Suenaga, Suemoto, Fumiari, Furitoshi, Yasukaku, Yasuto, Dainaoyasu, and three members of the shrine professional staff. As there was a consultation matter today, the *sōmen* noodles sent earlier by Ryōkuchiya Noto were ordered out; the meal was taken, and the consultation followed. Gakunori made the announcements.
**Regarding consultation on the procurement of silver (*gin-ko chōtatsu*):**

The total of the above amounts to approximately four *kan* and five hundred *monme*. Moreover, there are no funds at all available for payment this month or next. It was proposed that approximately five or six *kan* be borrowed. As it was understood that Chikuzen-no-kami had access to a moneylender (*gin-nushi*), it was determined that he should be asked to approach them. Accordingly, the request was made, and he immediately gave his assent, went directly to make enquiries, and presently returned, reporting that five or six *kan* could be made available. The interest rate is eight percent (*hachibu*), and as the interest is low, this is most welcome. However, the moneylender's condition was that in the future, when timber from the mountains — such as the Kinofune-yama or the current mountain — is to be sold or clear-cut, he wished to be given the right of tender, either at the assessed price or at a one-percent premium above it. In essence, this lending is motivated by the desire to secure that right. It was also decided that the name on the promissory note (*tegata*) should be written in the name of Chikuzen-no-kami's intermediary.
