**[Continuation from previous page regarding Mikikyo's report]**
Mikikyo was supposed to make the report, but due to a slight miscommunication, the report from Mikikyo was delayed.

**11th Day (Ushi day), Cloudy.** The shrine community was peaceful. Today marks the beginning of the *doyō* (midsummer period). It begins at the eighth hour of the Rooster (approximately 6 PM).
- This morning, the monthly prayer (*tsukishiro* ceremony) and morning prayers were conducted. One person from the rotating-duty shrine priest group attended per shift. *(Marginal note: It was the sixth group's turn, with Sonken assigned.)*
- Yesterday, one hundred *hiki* (a unit of currency) was brought as payment for banana-fiber cloth (*bashōfu*) for Hokaku and delivered at Kunishi's sitting room. Additionally, following the late Toneri-no-Shōjō's death, the notification to the shrine community was submitted by two people: Kōmarudayū and Urano Ujiya. The draft of this notice was also written and sent at Hokaku's request.
---
**12th Day (Tora day), Clear.**
- Today was the monthly assembly (*yoriai*). The attending shrine priests were: Masahisa, Hokushō, Yōsei, Kenrei, Kunishi, Tetsken, Suenaga, Hoto, Suehō, Shigemune, Suekazu, Hoshika, Tokusue, Suenoshimo, Kunikiyo, Moriaki, Tomotoshi, Hokaku, and Hodo.
The secretary (*shippitsu*) position was filled by proxy by Naoyasu, and Honu served as intermediary at the meeting hall, with Gakken making the announcements. The monthly duty officials were Hirohisa and Fumiatsu. The request for attendance at the *Hyōgisho* (council hall) for firewood mountain matters was declined. Tomikiyo did not attend due to his duty of daily offerings. Shigetsue and Naoyasu were absent due to illness. Others were also absent.
- Regarding the question of whether *roku-sen* (salary payments) could be circulated independently by those in charge: → Decision: They may circulate it independently.
- Regarding the rain prayer ceremony of the 9th being completed without incident at both the main shrine and Kibune: On this occasion, when Kagano-kami and Mikikyo visited Kibune on duty, the on-duty official Kōzunosuke reported that a cherry tree near the guardhouse appeared to be dead and dangerous. If it were to fall, it would land on the outhouse of Enmei-ji Temple, which could cause an embarrassing incident. He asked whether it should be cut down and requested that Mikikyo inspect it while there. Mikikyo inspected it and confirmed this to be the case. Since the maintenance officials (*Shūrihō*) would be ascending the mountain soon, it was suggested the tree be cut at that time. → Decision: The tree should be felled when the maintenance officials next ascend.
- On the same day, a letter arrived from the Kibune duty official, reporting that the stone wall at the *Mikogoya* (shrine maidens' building), which had been ordered previously, was completed by yesterday. The cost was 500 *mon*. Although initially estimated at five days of labor, it was completed in four.
- After the assembly on the 8th, a small meeting was held to discuss raising funds (*ginko chōtatsu*). There were also discussions with the people of Oyama Village, and after consulting with all ten groups, a decision was reached. The following day, the 9th, the elder and younger members gathered after lunch to finalize matters.
- On the 9th, a messenger was sent to call the *shūgyōdai* (acting administrator), but he was out; so on the following 10th, Hyōbukyō was invited, and the matter regarding Oyama Village was conveyed.
- On the 10th, as the son of Awajinokami Naruju had passed away, the customary letter of condolence and bereavement notice was sent by letter to the *Tenso*, the *Bugyō*, and the *Zassho* (administrative offices).
- On the 10th, the fourth and sixth groups submitted written responses (*kōjōgaki*) regarding the Oyama Village matter. Both groups' responses were broadly in agreement, indicating that they were entrusting the matter to the shrine community.
- On the same day, the first, second, third, fifth, seventh, and eighth groups submitted their responses orally through their junior officials (*wakayaku*). All were of the same opinion, entrusting the matter to the shrine community.
- On the same day, a notice was received from Mimasaka-no-suke Hiroki regarding a change of seal (*ingyō aratame*).
- On the same day, there was a notice of a duty rotation at Kibune between Kōzunosuke and Shigchiku. On this occasion, it was reported that there was a completely dead fir tree (*todo*) within Kibune's sacred mountain, and that it should be felled before it rots. This information had been reported by those patrolling the mountain. → Decision: Since the maintenance officials will be ascending shortly, they should inspect it together with the duty officer at that time.
- On the 11th, Jōshin-in visited the *shūgyōdai* and reported that the matter of Oyama Village had been individually communicated to each member of the *jike-chū* (temple families). However, since no reply of acceptance or refusal had yet been received, and being left in suspense was very problematic, since individual assessment (*ippun no miton*) was still extremely difficult to fulfill, they wished to make a formal request to the entire shrine community, and all members of the *jike-chū* were united in this appeal.
