小堀数馬殿元〆喜左衛門方へ罷越対談仕候喜左衛門被申候ハ成程何時ニても可懸
御目候表向御頼之義か御用之筋ニ候ハヽ玄関算場へ御出可被成候後内々御聞合と
申事ニ候ハヽ私宅へ御出可被成候宅ハ千本通り之御門を入候て右之方外牽之所ニ
表ニ名前書付有之由也日限ハ十七日廿日両日之内可参也右両日ハ算場へ出
被居候故此方ゟ参次第呼ニ参早速帰り被逢候筈也尤参候ハ壱人ニても両人
ニても不苦由也内々之義ニ候ハヽ壱人罷越可然凡此旨保韶へも相談被申入

一夜前信州産幸ゟ手紙ニ而南ノ徳右衛門一件ニ付今日兼為方へ参候処他行留守也

持参徳右衛門へ御渡被下候様ニ相頼一礼をも可申所存之由也依之保土直ニ産幸へ

一、陸奥介学顕が来訪され、お話になったことには、今朝、周防介起顕が来訪してお申し入れになったことには、先日お頼みした件について、一昨日、小堀数馬殿の元締・喜左衛門のもとへ出向いて対談した。喜左衛門が申されるには、「もちろん、いつでもお目にかかりましょう。表向きのご相談・ご用件でありましたら、玄関の算場（勘定所）へお越しください。内々のご相談ということであれば、私の自宅へお越しください。自宅は千本通りの御門を入って右手の、外牽（外側の門のある場所）のところで、表に名前の書き付けがございます」とのことであった。日程は十七日・二十日の両日のうちに参るべきである。右の両日は算場に出勤しているので、こちらから参り次第、呼びに来てくださればすぐに戻ってお目にかかれるとのことである。もちろん、参る人数は一人でも二人でも差し支えないとのこと。内々の件であれば一人で出向くのが良かろう。おおむねこの旨を保韶へも相談してお伝えになったところ、十七日に出向くのが良かろう。今日の昼食後に小寄会（小規模の寄り合い）を催した上で、明日にでももう一度手紙を送り、いよいよ十七日に出向くので、お目にかかれますようお願い申し上げる旨を伝え、その上で十七日に出向くようにとのことである。
一、昨夜、信州・産幸より手紙があり、南の徳右衛門の一件について、今日、兼為の方へ参ったところ、他出で留守であった。季脩に会ったところ、なるほど兼為は承知しており、今日にでも銀子五十目を産幸のもとへ持参するので、徳右衛門へお渡しくださるよう頼み、一礼も申し上げたい所存であるとのこと。これにより、保土が直接産幸のもとへ出向き、昨日の返答を兼ねてこの次第をお伝え申し置いた。

一、先達て普俊の口入（仲介）によりお借り入れになった銀子の証文が出来たので、今日ご加印（署名・捺印）くださるべし。

右の銀子は社用により預かり申すところ実正（確かに受け取った）である。返済の儀は来る子年の十二月を期限として、元利相違なく返済申すべし。質物（担保）として当山の立木を入れ置き申す。銀子の返済が滞った場合は、右の立木をもって相対（直接交渉）すべし。後日のために預かり証文を仍って件の如し。

**The 15th Day (Day of the Snake). Rain from midnight through early morning; clear from early morning.**
One item: Mutsu-no-suke Gakuken came to visit and reported the following: This morning, Suō-no-suke Okiaki came to visit and informed us that, regarding the matter requested earlier, he had gone the day before yesterday to meet with Kisaemon, the chief administrator (motoime) of Kobori Kazuma's office, and had a discussion with him. Kisaemon said: "Of course, I am available to meet at any time. If it is an official consultation or matter of business, please come to the entrance counting office (sanjō). If it is a confidential consultation, please come to my private residence. My home is located on the right-hand side after entering the gate on Senbon-dōri, at the outer gatehouse area — there is a nameplate at the front." As for the date, he should visit on either the 17th or the 20th. On both of those days he will be present at the counting office, and as soon as we arrive to call on him, he will return promptly to meet us. It does not matter whether one or two people come. If the matter is confidential, it would be best to go alone. He had consulted Hoshō roughly to this effect, and it was agreed that visiting on the 17th would be best. After the small gathering (shōkikai) this afternoon, a letter should be sent tomorrow once more, informing him that we will come on the 17th and requesting that he receive us; and on that basis, we should proceed to visit on the 17th.
One item: Last night, a letter arrived from Sansachi of Shinano Province, regarding the matter of Minami Tokuemon. Today, he went to Kanetame's residence, but Kanetame was out. Upon meeting Sueshū, it was confirmed that Kanetame had agreed, and that he intended to bring fifty monme of silver to Sansachi's place today, requesting that it be passed on to Tokuemon, and also wishing to pay a formal courtesy visit. Accordingly, Hodō went directly to Sansachi's residence and conveyed this development along with the previous day's reply.
**After the midday meal, Small Gathering (Shōkikai). Present: Hakkyū, Tetsuken, Kiho, Shiken, Hokaku, Hodō. Secretary (recording officer): Naoan. Held at the meeting hall.**
Gakuken presented the following: As previously discussed, Suō-no-suke Okiaki went to Soga Kisaemon's residence to make the request, and Kisaemon replied that he would of course be available to meet at any time. For official consultations, please come to the counting office via the front entrance, and our colleagues will arrange for you to be received. For confidential consultations, please come to my private residence. The date should be either the 17th or the 20th of this coming month. It would be better to go as soon as possible, so visiting on the 17th would be most appropriate. If it is indeed to be the 17th, it would be best to have Okiaki send a letter tomorrow using a messenger, informing him that we will come around noon on the 17th and requesting that he receive us. As for the number of people to attend — whether two or one — please consult Masahisa and Hoshō at the meeting hall and decide based on the outcome of your discussions. Regarding the coordination of arrangements, please finalize this before the 17th.
One item: The promissory note for the silver borrowed earlier through the mediation (kuchire) of Fusyun has been completed, and the seals should be affixed today.

The above silver has been received genuinely and truly for shrine use (shayō). Repayment of principal and interest shall be made without fail by the end of the twelfth month of the coming Year of the Rat. The standing timber of this mountain is offered as collateral (shichimono). Should repayment of the silver be delayed, the said standing timber shall be used to negotiate a settlement directly. As proof for future reference, this receipt of deposit is issued accordingly.
