**[Lamentation Petition — Second Document]**
A petition of lamentation humbly submitted:
Whereas a seclusion order was previously issued—
—
Sixth month, Year of the Boar Mushiike Chiyomatsu-dayū (seal)
To the entire Shrine community Mushiike Mikawa (same)
Torii-ōji Shima (same)
Nishiike Etchu-no-Kami (same)
Head Priest: Tomino Ōkura Gondaifu (same)
Regarding the above, [these petitions] were submitted in two documents to the entire shrine community. We are deeply humbled to be lamenting repeatedly in this manner; however, the parents of those [who were ordered into seclusion] have grown elderly and infirm, and at this time are especially distressed. As the entire shrine community finds it too painful to bear the sight of their entreaties for the lifting of [the seclusion order],
we humbly set aside our reservations and submit this lamentation. Should a merciful ruling be granted and the pardon be issued, the entire shrine community would be most grateful. Respectfully submitted.
Sixth month, twenty-second day, Year of the Boar Representative of Kamo Shrine: Yamamoto Buzen-no-Kami Hokaku
To Lord Hino-ben Okamoto Kunai Hoshō
To the Zassho [administrators]
The above was duly written out, and on this day Hoshō and Hokaku appeared in person [to submit it].

**[Regarding the Incense Sachets for Lord Matsudaira Tominosuke]**
The incense sachets (kaori-bukuro) to be presented to Lord Matsudaira Tominosuke were brought today by Kūbē. It appears that, as in previous years, three *bu* per sachet has been deducted, amounting to one *momme* five *bu* off for five sachets. However, as the seams of the sachets appear worn and old, this matter should be examined more carefully once again.
