（復興の勢いは）いよいよ増して勇ましく、これはひとえに大君（将軍）の御慈愛から生じるものであれば、ただただ御国恩を忘れぬために、ここに記しておくものである。

△同所南方、阿州様中屋敷・戸田采女正様中屋敷・松平下総守様下屋敷は大破したが、火災はなし。△同所三十三間堂は棟の中ほどで裂け、軒口が崩れ、瓦が前後に七分方落ち、その他大破損。△同所木場よりこの四方、武家・町家ともに崩れ家・潰れ家が多く、ことごとく記しがたい。
㊃同所和倉・佐賀町代地・本所石原代地町・平野町添地はともに焼ける。同北西方の今川町・永堀町・万年町・正覚寺橋通りは崩れ・潰れあり。冨岡橋北方の陽岳院・法禅院・心行院・海福寺・増林寺・恵然寺・正覚寺等は大破損。この四方の武家・町家ともに崩れ潰れ家は甚だ多し。

(The spirit of recovery) grows ever more vigorous and spirited. Since this arises entirely from the benevolent compassion of the great lord (the Shogun), it is recorded here simply so that the debt of gratitude owed to the nation shall not be forgotten.

△ In the same area to the south: the middle residence (*nakayashiki*) of the Lord of Awa, the middle residence of Lord Toda Uneme-no-shō, and the lower residence (*shimoyashiki*) of Lord Matsudaira Shimōsa-no-kami suffered major damage, but no fires occurred. △ The Sanjūsangendō in the same area split in the middle of its ridge, the eaves collapsed, approximately seventy percent of the roof tiles fell fore and aft, with other extensive damage besides. △ From Kiba in the same area throughout the surrounding quarters, there were many collapsed and destroyed structures among both samurai residences and townspeople's houses — too numerous to record in full.
㊃ In the same area, Wakura, Saga-chō substitute land (*daichi*), Honjo Ishihara substitute land block, and the annex of Hirano-chō all burned. To the northwest, Imagawa-chō, Nagahori-chō, Mannen-chō, and the Shōgakuji Bridge thoroughfare suffered collapses and destructions. To the north of Tomioka Bridge, Yōgakuin, Hōzenji, Shingyōin, Kaifukuji, Zōrinji, Eineniji, Shōgakuji and other temples suffered major damage. In all the surrounding quarters, the number of collapsed and destroyed residences — both samurai and townspeople — was exceedingly great.
