英語訳
Inspections shall be conducted at the gate to the lord's quarters. However, for suspicious matters, a thorough examination must be conducted before allowing passage. Generally, the wearing of headgear and red cotton caps by lower-ranking persons shall be prohibited.
Note: Fugitives, mentally disturbed persons, and those intoxicated shall not be admitted. Stray horses shall be detained whether entering or leaving.
1. Needless to say, people from other domains, as well as those from public lands and other territories, regardless of whether they are monks, laypeople, men, or women, shall not be allowed passage. Even those from our own domain who have no official business shall not be admitted.
Note: If messengers or couriers to the lord's quarters arrive at the Geba gate without proper guidance, they shall be detained and the matter reported to the duty chamberlain for instructions.
However, messengers from Matsuoka, couriers on official business, and retainers visiting to inquire about his lordship's health may be allowed passage. Those going to the official residence or castle deputy's residence, whether from public lands, other territories, or even from Matsuoka, shall be detained and the matter reported to those residences, with passage allowed only upon confirmation from within.
1. When lower-ranking persons and subordinates (both men and women) in the castle become ill or injured and exit the gate in palanquins or conveyances, permission must be obtained from their supervisors and the chief inspector must be notified. If it is confirmed that they are being transported in palanquins or conveyances, this shall be acknowledged and passage allowed after observing the situation.
1. When craftsmen, day laborers, and people from towns and villages arrive and such situations arise, the inspection procedures shall follow the same principles as stated above.
1. For palanquins and conveyances of both men and women of all ranks departing from within the castle, permission must be obtained from the appropriate authorities before passage is allowed. However, if anything appears suspicious, the interior of the conveyance must be inspected before allowing passage.
1. Due to the possibility of unexpected incidents such as fights or quarrels occurring within the castle, not only lower-ranking persons entering and leaving, but even retainers shall not be allowed to pass carelessly. Instructions from the chief inspectors must be followed.
1. Regarding entry and exit to the lord's quarters after the gates are closed at night, whether for official or private business, from retainers to the lowest-ranking persons, all movement shall require direct permission from the gate guards or written authorization. Even if someone claims to have been summoned or to be on official business, without prior permission from the gate guards, the matter must be reported to the gate guards and passage allowed only after receiving permission. Furthermore, when there is urgent business from the main bailey lord's quarters or the guards' quarters at the Nanatsu warehouse requiring communication with the guard post, messengers from those quarters shall be detained at the gate, the matter reported to the guard post, and passage allowed only after examination by the gate guards and with proper authorization.
1. Generally, after the gates are closed, even those who entered with permission must present written authorization from the gate guards when departing.
Note: Those with authorization from the chief inspectors may enter and exit even after gate closure without requiring permission from the gate guards.
1. After gate closure, when the following officials pass through on official business: senior councilors, administrators, caretakers, chamberlains, pages supervisors, Suzuki Tadaemon, magistrates, and inspectors - these individuals may enter and exit without requiring permission from the gate guards.

Note: When these officials send personnel to the main bailey lord's quarters on night duty, this shall be acknowledged and gate guards from various units shall be assigned to escort them.
1. Regarding entry and exit from the official residence and castle deputy's residence after gate closure, permission from gate guards is not required. For the official residence, authorization from the supervisor, and for the castle deputy's residence, authorization from the master shall suffice.
1. When retinue members depart before dawn for falconry, river hunting, and other activities, the gates may be opened one hour before the official announcement.
