　次第可相通惣而公領他領之者奉公人ハ不及申町人百姓といふとも一切不可相通無拠子細有之

申し聞け候。もっとも出入りの節、多門より人を差し添え候旨申し聞く。その段御門へ相断り候留めこれあり

△一　御夜詰めの節は御夜詰め過ぎ御門罷り通り候儀、内より出る者は御番改めの差し紙を取り相通すべし。若しやむを得ざる御急用の節は、御番改めに断りを任せ相通すべく候。御番人の宿より急用これあり御本丸御座所へ申し通る時は、当人親類または近所の者にても、用事の品書付、両人程加判仕り差し越すべく候間、その趣御本丸御座所へも申し通し、御番改め吟味の上相通すべきこと

一　下馬御門へ自然他国他領の者不案内にて罷り越し候は、差し押さえ置き、御座所への使者飛脚等は当番御奏者番中へ相達し、差図に任すべきこと。御用屋敷、御城代屋敷へ罷り越し候者は、その屋敷へ相達し、内より断りの次第相通すべし。総じて公領他領の者、奉公人は申すに及ばず、町人百姓と申すとも一切相通すべからず。やむを得ざる子細これあり候は、その屋敷へ相達し断り承り届け相通すべく候。たとえば御領分の者と申すとも、用事これなきにおいては通し申すまじく候こと

On the 8th day of the 10th month of Kanpo 3, Year of the Boar, the caretaker within the Geba [Gate area], Suganuma Yoichiro, reported: Due to family connections with Shomyoji Temple in Kurome Village and Saiun-ji Temple in Bushu Village, [temple priests] occasionally visit my residence and sometimes stay overnight. When this happens, they sometimes come to inquire at the Geba Gate. For their information, I report that this has been done without prior authorization in the past. I stated that since these temple personnel are local residents, no authorization should be required. However, since this concerns residences within the castle grounds, when such temple [priests] stay overnight, they should seek authorization from the inspectors, and the inspectors would then notify the Geba Gate accordingly. I replied that they should seek authorization from now on. A record of this remains.

1. In Enkyo 3, Year of the Tiger, when Castle Deputy Sasa Jitamon went outside the Geba Gate and returned after nightfall, the circumstances of the internal authorization were reported to the duty senior ashigaru commander. A record of this remains.

1. Hōei 2, Year of the Rooster, 9th month, 19th day: Drum permits for three gate locations at Geba, gate postings revised with various preferred additions and modifications, drafts submitted for review. The above three regulation documents were completed and submitted through foot inspectors on the 3rd day of the 10th month. Old regulation documents are to be stored in the official document box.

△1. During night duty: After night duty ends, those exiting from within who wish to pass through the gate must obtain a pass from the gate inspectors. In cases of unavoidable urgent business, they may pass with authorization from the gate inspectors. When there is urgent business from the guard quarters requiring communication to the main bailey lord's quarters, the person in question, their relatives, or neighbors must prepare a written statement of the business with endorsements from about two people before proceeding. This matter must also be communicated to the main bailey lord's quarters, and passage permitted after examination by the gate inspectors.
　　Addition: Generally, when the gates are closed, even those who entered from outside with authorization must obtain a pass from the gate inspectors when departing.

△1. Regarding nighttime hawking expeditions by the lord: The retinue may pass one hour before the official announcement. Specifically, when departure is at the sixth hour of dawn, they may pass from the seventh hour.

When senior councilors, stewards, external caretakers, presenters, and pages visit the lord's quarters during nighttime, prior to passing through the Geba Gate, group members must be sent to the lord's quarters gate to inform the guards. When these officials visit the main bailey, all gates must be notified in advance. When they visit, authorization from gate inspectors is not required. 【The following three articles were added in Kyōhō 4, Year of the Boar, 6th month】

1. Should people from other domains or territories unfamiliar [with procedures] come to the Geba Gate, they shall be detained. Messengers and couriers to the lord's quarters shall be reported to the duty presenters and await their instructions. Those visiting official residences or the castle deputy's residence shall be reported to those residences and may pass according to internal authorization procedures. Generally, people from public or other domains - not only servants but also townspeople and farmers - shall absolutely not be allowed to pass. If there are unavoidable circumstances, the matter shall be reported to the relevant residence, authorization obtained and confirmed, and then they may pass. Even if they are from the lord's domain, if they have no business, they shall not be allowed to pass.
　　Addition: Messengers from Matsuoka and official couriers, as well as attendants coming to inquire about the lord's health, may pass as has been done until now. Those visiting official residences or the castle deputy's residence shall be detained, the relevant residence contacted, and authorization obtained before passage.

When lower-ranking castle personnel or lower-level retainers use palanquins or vehicles for gate entry and exit due to illness, their supervisors or masters must provide authorization, and their condition must be observed before allowing passage. If townspeople or farmers who have come to visit claim they cannot walk due to sudden illness and request to use palanquins or vehicles, the matter must be reported to the inspectors to confirm whether this follows their instructions, their condition must be further observed and examined before allowing passage.
