現代語訳
由井・興津あたりにて、あの大風雨の翌朝、海岸のありさまを見たのだが、大小の舟が破損・損壊して吹き寄せられ、波に漂っているさまは目を驚かすばかりであった。しかしながら、さすがに海辺の眺望は目の届く限りに広がっているため、遠くに見える浦々は嵐があったとも思われず、いつもと変わらぬ絶景であって、森は青々と水を含んで煙るように立ちのぼり、里々はいかにも豊かに見えたとのこと。以上、話のままをここに図示するのみである。

英語訳
At the area around Yui and Okitsu, the morning after that great storm, one looked out upon the state of the coastline and saw boats of all sizes broken and damaged, blown together and drifting upon the waves — a sight that struck the eye with astonishment. And yet, as one might expect of a seaside vista stretching as far as the eye could reach, the distant coves and inlets showed no sign that any storm had passed over them at all. The scenery was as magnificent as ever: the forests gleamed a deep, lush green, heavy with moisture, rising up as if wreathed in mist, and the villages in the distance appeared utterly tranquil and bountiful. What is recorded here is simply a rendering in illustration of the account as it was told.
