（前ページより続く）根津権現は）別条なし。そこより茅町通りは地震で残っていた家々の大半が傾き、毘沙門堂は大きく潰れ、裏池の端の通りの小家は過半が損じ、潰れも見られた。
◯ 本郷通りは表側の損じた箇所は至って軽く、ただし東西の裏手の小屋敷・組屋敷は大破または潰れるものも多かった。同四丁目の西、本妙寺の下にて、高さ二十間余、周り五抱えほどの銀杏が根元から折れ、これにより死者が二、三人もあったとのことである。家は四、五間も押し潰された。附木店・組屋敷は近頃の火災の後であったため、その仮普請の家々が大破に及んだ。加州侯の構えについては、広大であり、殊に門内への出入りが堅固であるため、見聞が及びかなわなかったので、これを略す。

◯ 小石川の伝通院裏門・柳町は町屋・組屋敷ともに潰れ家が多く、伝通院の寺中の寺々も損じ、山内の大木が夥しく折れ倒れ、所々損じた。三百坂・極楽水の小屋敷はことごとく大破した。大塚辺りの組屋敷は潰れ家が多く、松平大学頭殿の屋敷では大木が数本打ち折れた。御薬園・切支丹坂・白山御殿では潰れ家が少しあった。
◯ 駒込追分より王子への道筋、十条・稲毛近辺はことごとく破損した。また鶏声が窪より巣鴨通り・庚申塚辺りまで、横町・裏町の家々・組屋敷・小屋敷等の潰れ・傾くものが夥しく、寺院の山内・屋敷の構内などにて大樹の折れ倒れること数百本に及んだ。また板橋宿の遊女屋は損じて傾き、町家は潰れ大破した。

From there, along Kaya-chō Street, most of the houses that had survived the earthquake were leaning, the Bishamondon hall was largely destroyed, and more than half of the small houses along the path by the rear pond were damaged, with some having completely collapsed.
◯ Along Hongō Street, the damage to the front-facing side was relatively minor; however, the small estates and row-houses (*kumiyashiki*) to the east and west along the back streets suffered severe damage, and many were completely destroyed. West of the 4th block (*yonchōme*) of the same street, at the base of Honmyō-ji temple, a ginkgo tree of more than twenty *ken* in height and approximately five arm-spans in girth broke off from its roots, reportedly killing two or three people. Houses over a span of four or five *ken* were crushed [by the falling tree]. The tinder-shop district (*tsukegidana*) and row-houses (*kumiyashiki*) had only recently been rebuilt with temporary structures (*kari-fushin*) following a fire, and those temporary buildings suffered severe damage. As for the estate of the Lord of Kaga (*Kashū-kō*), it is very extensive and entry through the gate is strictly controlled; therefore it was not possible to gather information firsthand, and it is accordingly omitted here.
◯ In Oyumi-chō, the front tenement (*omote-nagaya*) of Lord Honda collapsed, and one tenement building of Kainoshō also collapsed. The main gate of Lord Ogasawara's secondary residence (*naka-yashiki*) collapsed, and the front enclosures of Lord Toda's and Lord Sakai's estates, as well as other small estates, were all damaged. A fir tree at Lord Yonekizu's estate fell and blocked the thoroughfare. In the areas of Maruyama-dai-machi, Kiku-zaka, and Nashi-zaka, the damage to townspeople's houses was countless. The houses of Tamamachi were slightly damaged. The military estates, large and small, along the road in front of Kawakatsumae and around Maruta-bashi, were all severely damaged. In Kojūnin-machi—

—and Sasugaya-machi, there was damage in various places, but the Hakusan area suffered comparatively little.
◯ In Koishikawa, around the rear gate of Dentsu-in temple and Yanagi-chō, both townspeople's houses and row-houses had many collapsed buildings. The temples within the Dentsu-in complex were damaged, and a great many large trees within the precinct fell, causing damage in various places. The small estates along Sanhyaku-zaka and Gokurakuzu were all severely damaged. The row-houses around Ōtsuka had many collapsed buildings, and several large trees at the estate of Lord Matsudaira, the Director of the University (*Daigakunosuke*), were broken and felled. In the areas of the Medicinal Garden (*Oyakuen*), Kirishitan-zaka, and the Hakusan Palace, a small number of houses were destroyed.
◯ From Komagome Oiwake along the road toward Ōji, the areas of Jūjō and Inage suffered damage throughout. Furthermore, from Keiseiga-kubo along Sugamo Street to the area around Kōshin-zuka, the number of collapsed or leaning houses, row-houses, and small estates in the side streets and back alleys was immense, and within the precincts of temples and the grounds of estates, several hundred large trees were broken and felled. The brothels (*yūjoya*) of Itabashi post-town were damaged and leaning, and the townspeople's houses collapsed and were severely damaged.
◯ The shrine of Ōji Gongen and the Inari shrine suffered little damage, and the damage to the townspeople's houses was also minor.
