（赤城の）下、この辺りの町屋・小屋敷・組屋敷はいずれも所々に潰れた家が多い。榎町は損害が多い。御箪笥町通りの小屋敷・組屋敷にも所々に潰れた家がある。柳町・高田辺り一帯が損じ、若松町通り・袋町の組屋敷はことごとく大破に及んだ。大久保・抜弁天の町家・小屋敷ともに潰れた家が多く、永沢の表門長屋が崩れた。新宿の遊女屋は所々傷み、谷町・合羽坂辺りの組屋敷はほぼ損じた。番町通りの横立屋敷は所々損じ、市ヶ谷御門外の通りは少々傷んだ。尾張様のお屋敷は所々損じ、四ツ谷通り・伊賀町辺りの組屋敷は所々大破した。赤坂氷川明神の境内では大木が折れることが夥しく、真田侯の屋敷長屋が崩れ、相馬侯の長屋も崩れた。鮫ヶ橋・権田原・青山通りはことごとく破損し、大木が倒れることが数知れなかった。百人町より渋谷・道玄坂の間にかけて、潰れた家が所々に見られた。

(Continuing from Akagi below:) In this area, town houses, small residences, and communal samurai housing alike had collapsed buildings scattered throughout. Enoki-chō suffered much damage. Along Otansu-chō street, small residences and communal housing had collapsed buildings here and there. Yanagi-chō and the entire Takada area suffered damage; Wakamatsu-chō street and the communal housing of Fukuro-chō were almost entirely severely damaged. In Ōkubo and Nukebenten, many town houses and small residences collapsed, and the front-gate tenement of Nagasawa also crumbled. The brothels of Shinjuku were damaged in various places, and the communal housing around Tanimachi and Kappa-zaka was mostly damaged. The横立 residences along Banchō street suffered damage in places, and the area outside Ichigaya Gate was slightly damaged. The mansion of the Lord of Owari suffered damage in various places, and the communal housing around Yotsuya street and Iga-chō was severely damaged in several locations. Within the precincts of Akasaka Hikawa Shrine, a great number of large trees were broken; the tenement of Lord Sanada's residence collapsed, as did the tenement of Lord Sōma's residence. Along Samegabashi, Gondawara, and Aoyama street, damage was universal, and countless large trees were felled. Between Hyakunin-chō and the stretch toward Shibuya and Dōgen-zaka, collapsed houses were visible throughout.
