一、五月二十二日、西の丸において若君様（松平兵部大輔）が御誕生になったことについて、御機嫌伺いのため両御丸へ御登城し、それより御老中・御廻勤・若年寄中へ御使者として御留守居を指し出した（去る月二十四日に御触達があった）。

一、同月二十三日、若君様の御機嫌伺いのため、西の丸御老中松平能登守乗賢殿へ御使者として御留守居坂田七右衛門永常を指し出した。
　　　　ただし、右の御使者は二十七日まで毎日指し出したが記録しない。

一、同月二十八日、若君様の御七夜の御祝儀として総出仕のため西の丸へ御登城した（昨二十七日に御触達があった）。
殿上の間において御同州方が御揃いの上、御目付の御指図があり、松の御廊下へお通りになったところ、御長局が出た際に御老中松平能登守乗賢殿が出座したので御歓びを申し上げて済ませ、大広間へ御退座し、再び松の御廊下へ御出座になったところ、若君様の御名が竹千代様であることの御広めが仰せ出され、それより御白書院において公方様・大納言様がお出ましになり、御一統に御歓びを申し上げ、上意があった。

1. On May 22nd, regarding the birth of the young lord (Matsudaira Hyōbu-dayū) at the West Bailey, [the lord] went to both baileys to inquire after [the shogun's] health, and from there sent the castle keeper as an envoy to the Senior Councilors, rotating officials, and Junior Councilors (notification was given on the 24th of last month).

1. On the 23rd of the same month, to inquire after the young lord's health, castle keeper Sakata Shichiemon Nagatsune was sent as an envoy to West Bailey Senior Councilor Matsudaira Noto-no-kami Norikane.
　　　　However, although this envoy was sent daily until the 27th, [these visits] are not recorded.

1. On the 28th of the same month, for the celebration of the young lord's seventh night ceremony, [the lord] went to the West Bailey for full attendance (notification was given yesterday, the 27th).
In the Palace Attendants' Chamber, after the officials from the same province assembled, there were instructions from the inspector, and when [the lord] proceeded to the Pine Corridor, when the chief lady-in-waiting appeared, Senior Councilor Matsudaira Noto-no-kami Norikane took his seat, so congratulations were offered and concluded. [The lord] withdrew to the Great Hall, and when he again took his seat in the Pine Corridor, the announcement was made that the young lord's name would be Takechiyo, and then in the White Formal Reception Room, the Shogun and the Great Councilor appeared, congratulations were offered by all assembled, and there was an official pronouncement.
