舟（シユツフ、フネ）【チップ】
【図】 舟は丸木をくり抜いて底とし、両側の板は桜皮で綴じ付ける。或いは鯨のひげを使う。
帆（カヤ、ホ）
蒲で編んだ莚である。松前の人々はこれを扇帆と名付けている。

Boat (shiyutsufu, fune) [chip]
[Illustration] The boat is made by hollowing out a round log for the bottom, and the side boards are sewn together with cherry bark. Alternatively, whale baleen is used.
Sail (kaya, ho)
This is a mat woven from bulrush. The people of Matsumae call this a "fan sail."
