現代語訳
《削除部分：そこで江戸の親戚に告げて、その是非を問うたところ、》
《削除部分：親戚は言った「外国との交易は長崎に限られており、》
《削除部分：あの地において許可されないのは当然である。今更これを奏上するのは》
《削除部分：かえって事を好むように見えるだろう」と。これに依って奏上しなかった。》
渡来することなく送り返す。
思うに、赤人（ロシア人）には文字があるけれども、我々は読むことができない。
英語訳
《Deleted section: Therefore, I consulted with relatives in Edo (Tokyo) about whether this was right or wrong,》
《Deleted section: The relatives said, "Trade with foreign countries is limited to Nagasaki,》
《Deleted section: and it is proper that it not be permitted in that place (Ezo). To petition about this now》
《Deleted section: would appear as if we were seeking trouble." Based on this, no petition was made.》
