現代語訳
船を繋いで陸に上がったところを、直ちに囲んでこれを討った。即座に死んだ者は十数人、残りは皆逃げ去って船に乗った。赤人（ロシア人）の鉄砲に当たって蝦夷も四、五人死んだと言うけれども、なお勢いに乗じて追い討ちし、船中に到達しても毒矢に当たって死ぬ者が二、三人いた。
英語訳
When they moored their ship and came ashore, [the Ainu] immediately surrounded and attacked them. More than ten people died instantly, while the rest all fled and boarded their ship. Although it is said that four or five Ainu also died from being hit by the red people's (Russians') firearms, they still pressed their advantage and continued the attack. Even when they reached the ship, two or three more died from being struck by poisoned arrows.
