今般横浜港市街ニ於テ虎列刺病症ニ罹リ死亡ノ者有
之自然当地へ伝染ノ患難計ニ付摂生自養勿論ニ候得
共万一盛染症ト認メ候ハヽ時間ヲ不移医師ノ治療ヲ
乞ヒ其旨速ニ最寄警視病院又ハ各分署ヘ可届出此旨
布達候事
但シ他人ト雖トモ右病症ニ罹リ候モノ見受候ハヽ本
文同様可届出候事
○警視本署甲第二十六号《割書：明治十年｜九月廿一日》
医師診断ノ際虎列刺病感染ト認メ候ハヽ患者前入口
ニハ(コレラ病アリ)ト記載シ該医師ニ於テ直チニ粘付
可致此旨布達候事

虎列刺病伝染ノ徴候ニ付テハ取調ノ都合モ有之間当
分ノ内何症ニ不限総テ死亡ノ者ハ医師ノ診断書ヲ添
便宜ヲ以テ警視病院又は所轄分署へ速カニ可届出此
旨布達候事
○警視局ヨリ各方面へ左之御達《割書：明治十年｜九月二十日》
所轄内薬店ニ於テ石炭酸所有ノ量数有無共至急該店
ニ就キ取調可申尤モ本人捺印シ調書取纏メ明後二十
二日限リ本署第五課エ可差出此旨相達候事
現代語訳
今般横浜港市街においてコレラ病症に罹り死亡する者があり、自然と当地へ伝染する恐れも計り難いため、摂生自養はもちろんのことであるが、万一感染症と認めた場合は、時間を移さず医師の治療を請い、その旨を速やかに最寄りの警視病院又は各分署へ届け出ること。この旨を布達する。
ただし、他人であっても右の病症に罹った者を見受けた場合は、本文同様に届け出ること。
○警視本署甲第二十六号《明治十年九月二十一日》
医師診断の際、コレラ病感染と認めた場合は、患者宅入口には「コレラ病アリ」と記載し、該当医師においては直ちに貼付すること。この旨を布達する。
○警視本署甲第二十七号《明治十年九月二十一日》
コレラ病伝染の徴候については取調べの都合もあるため、当分の間、何症に限らず総ての死亡者は医師の診断書を添えて、便宜をもって警視病院又は所轄分署へ速やかに届け出ること。この旨を布達する。
○警視局より各方面へ左の通達《明治十年九月二十日》
所轄内薬店において石炭酸所有の量数の有無共に、至急該当店について取り調べること。もっとも本人押印した調書を取りまとめ、明後二十二日限りで本署第五課へ提出すること。この旨を通達する。

Recently, there have been deaths from cholera in the Yokohama port city area, and since the risk of natural transmission to this area is incalculable, while self-care and health maintenance are naturally important, if one recognizes infection symptoms, one must immediately seek medical treatment without delay and promptly report this to the nearest Metropolitan Police hospital or district stations. This directive is hereby promulgated.
However, if one observes others afflicted with this disease, they should report it in the same manner as stated above.

When a physician's diagnosis confirms cholera infection, a sign reading "Cholera Present" shall be posted at the patient's entrance, and the attending physician must immediately affix it. This directive is hereby promulgated.

Regarding signs of cholera transmission, due to investigative requirements, for the time being, regardless of the type of illness, all deaths must be reported promptly to Metropolitan Police hospitals or jurisdictional stations, accompanied by a physician's diagnosis certificate. This directive is hereby promulgated.
○Notice from Metropolitan Police Bureau to All Districts《September 20, Meiji 10 (1877)》
Regarding the quantity and availability of carbolic acid held by pharmacies within the jurisdiction, immediate investigation of said stores is required. A report with the proprietor's seal must be compiled and submitted to the Fifth Division of this headquarters by the day after tomorrow, the 22nd. This notice is hereby communicated.
