はへり。席は苔（こけ）ふかく。軒（のき）にしのふ茂（しけ）りたり。月かたぶ
きて。燭（ともしび）をかゝげそへ。霧こもりて香をたきそふ
其外谷みね作（つくり）ならべし堂塔（だうとう）には。至極（しごくは）堪深の床（ゆか）
の上に。心地の玉をみがき。後夜（ごや）晨朝（じんでう）の鐘の音に。
無明（むみやう）のねふりをさましけり。かの南天（なんでん）の大 鉄（てつ）
塔（たう）。あるひは尺（しやく）そんねはんの像（ざう）。みだらいかうのよそ
ほひせつほうの庭。ざぜんの床（ゆか）ひみつしゆぎやう。
念仏三まい。けんみつ二 教（けう）をかきまじへ。聖道（しやうだう）浄土
さま〳〵なり。一 度（ど）さんけいのともがらは、ながく三
途（づ）の苦（く）をはなれ。ぼだいのえんをむすぶとかや有（あり）

現代語訳

生い茂っている。座席は苔が深く、軒には忍草が茂っている。月が傾いて、灯火を掲げ添え、霧が籠もって香を焚き添える。その他、谷や峰に作り並べた堂塔には、至極深遠な床の上で、心地の玉を磨き、後夜・晨朝の鐘の音に、無明の眠りを覚ましている。あの南天の大鉄塔、あるいは釈尊涅槃の像、曼荼羅講の装い、説法の庭、座禅の床、秘密修行、念仏三昧。顕密二教を書き交ぜ、聖道・浄土、様々である。一度参詣する者は、永く三途の苦を離れ、菩提の縁を結ぶということである。

...are growing thickly. The seats are deep with moss, and ferns flourish under the eaves. The moon tilts, adding raised lanterns; mist gathers, adding burning incense. In the various halls and pagodas arranged throughout the valleys and peaks, on supremely profound floors, they polish the jewel of the mind, and in the sound of bells at late night and early dawn services, they awaken from the sleep of ignorance. That great iron pagoda of the southern heavens, or the image of Shakyamuni's nirvana, the ornaments of mandala lectures, the courtyards of dharma teaching, the floors of zazen meditation, secret practices, nembutsu samadhi - mixing both exoteric and esoteric teachings, the Holy Path and Pure Land in various forms. Those who make pilgrimage even once are said to eternally escape the sufferings of the three evil paths and form connections with bodhi.
