差出申一札之事
此度博奕之義ニ付御書付ニて被 仰付候趣
可承知仕奉畏候面々家内之男女末々之者迄
委ク為読聞厳申付候此上五人組申合無油断
相互心付吟味可仕候万一疑敷者有之候ハヽ早速
御訴可申上候若不情仕不存罷有候歟又者
隠置外より露顕仕候ハゝ当人幷宿之儀者不及
申上組合之者共重科ニも可被 仰付其節
各々方え少も御苦労掛申間敷候為後日組合
連印御請証文差出申所仍而如件

現代語訳
差し出し申し上げる一札の件
この度、博打の件について、お書付にて仰せ付けられました趣旨を承知いたし、恐れ入っております。各々の家内の男女、末々の者まで詳しく読み聞かせ、厳しく申し付けました。この上は、五人組で申し合わせ、油断なく相互に心を付け、吟味いたします。万一疑わしい者がございましたら、早速御訴え申し上げます。もし不届きをいたし、存じていながら放置していた場合、または隠し置いて他から露見いたしました場合は、当人並びに宿の件は申すまでもなく、組合の者共も重罪に仰せ付けられても、その節は各々方へ少しも御苦労をおかけいたしません。後日のため、組合連印の御請け証文を差し出し申すところ、よって件の如し。

Written Pledge Submitted
Regarding the matter of gambling, we humbly acknowledge and fearfully accept the instructions given to us through the written directive. We have thoroughly read and explained these instructions to all men and women in our respective households, down to the lowest members, and have strictly ordered compliance. From now on, the five-person groups will coordinate with each other, remain vigilant without negligence, mutually watch over one another, and conduct investigations. Should there be any suspicious persons, we will immediately report them to the authorities. If anyone acts improperly while knowing about it but failing to act, or if they conceal such matters and they are later exposed by others, not only the perpetrator and the lodging house, but also all members of the mutual responsibility group may be sentenced to severe punishment. In such cases, we will not cause any trouble whatsoever to the honorable authorities. As proof for future reference, we submit this pledge document with the joint seals of our mutual responsibility group members, therefore as stated herein.
