之百姓共申合於馬場表来ル廿六日一日寄相撲仕奉納申上

度旨申出候於一社段々相尋候処寛保年中之通取計候

今度上賀茂御社御造営無滞被為済百姓一統難有仕合奉
恐悦候去ル寛保御造営之節も百姓共申合於馬場表
寄相撲御願申上奉納仕候此度も先格之通右之
於場所来ル廿六日若雨天ニ御座候はゝ廿八日相撲興行仕奉納
仕度奉存候尤場銭木戸銭等取候儀も無之小屋掛等一切仕
不申大形ニ無之随分静鑑ニ取計可仕候間何卒先年之通

当社の御造営が済みましたお祝いとして、去る寛保の時と同様に境内の
百姓たちが申し合わせて馬場表において来る26日一日、寄相撲を仕って奉納申し上げ
たい旨を一社まで相談申しました。もちろん26日がもし雨天でございましたら28日に催し
たい旨申し出ました。一社において詳しくお尋ねになった結果、寛保年中と同様に取り計らう
ということで何の差し支えもございませんので、願い通りお聞き届けくださいますようお願いいたします。以上

一、早朝東御役所へ総代として季栄一人が出頭した。趣旨はこの度百姓若者
たちから相撲の願いがあったので庄屋並びに領主百姓2人を連れて参った。もちろん社中から
一札、百姓たちからの願書等を持参した

このたび上賀茂御社の御造営が滞りなくお済みになり、百姓一統ありがたい仕合わせと
恐悦いたしております。去る寛保の御造営の節も百姓たちが申し合わせて馬場表において
寄相撲をお願い申し上げ奉納いたしました。このたびも先例通り右の
場所において来る26日、もし雨天でございましたら28日に相撲興行をして奉納
いたしたく存じます。もちろん場銭・木戸銭等を取ることもなく、小屋掛け等は一切
いたしません。大がかりではなく、できる限り静粛に取り計らいます。何卒先年通り

Petition statement
As a celebration for the completion of our shrine's reconstruction, following the precedent of the Kanpō era, the farmers of the precinct
have agreed to hold a one-day charity sumo tournament at Baba-omote on the coming 26th day as an offering to the shrine.
Of course, if the 26th is rainy, we have requested to hold it on the 28th. After detailed inquiry at the shrine,
it was determined that this would be carried out in the same manner as during the Kanpō years, and there being no
obstacles, we humbly request that our petition be granted as requested. The above.

One: Today, kyōgen was offered by townspeople who frequent the shrine. The program was as follows:

For this, the shrine gave 2 pieces of silver and 5 shō of sake to the kyōgen performers.
One: Early in the morning, Kiē went alone as representative to the Eastern Office. The purpose was regarding the sumo petition from the young farmers,
so he brought the village headman and 2 domain farmers. Of course, he brought a written pledge from the shrine and
petition documents from the farmers.

This time, the reconstruction of Kami-Kamo Shrine has been completed without delay, and all the farmers are grateful for this
fortunate occasion and rejoice. During the previous Kanpō reconstruction, the farmers also agreed to hold
charity sumo at Baba-omote as an offering. This time too, following precedent, at the same
location on the coming 26th, or if it rains on the 28th, we wish to hold a sumo tournament as an offering.
Of course, we will not collect admission fees or gate fees, nor will we erect any temporary structures.
