They proceeded to the divine presence. However, for the main shrine's formal relocation, the imperial edict was received by the head priest at the bridge hall and prepared for divine viewing. The ceremony from when the messenger advances to the front of the Chinese gate, the head priest withdraws from the divine presence, and the mutual bowing, etc., follows previous precedent, so it is abbreviated here (however, the shrine officials from the chief negi downward took their positions at the earthen building as before).
The procedures for Kataoka Shrine and Kibune Shrine
After both the imperial edict messenger and deputy messenger bowed to each other with the head priest in front of the Chinese gate, they exited through the tower gate and middle gate, crossed the Jeweled Bridge, Negi Bridge, etc., then crossed the Celebrant's Bridge and lined up on the eastern side under the northern eaves of the bridge hall. The head priest and lower shrine officials, as well as those making voluntary visits, placed round cushions and long benches under the western eaves of the tower gate (however, in two lines; after the imperial edict messenger proceeded to the divine presence, they erected the earthen building and placed seats in front of the main shrine after crossing the bridge).
Next, Kataoka Negi (in trailing hem dress) crossed the Jeweled Bridge from inside the tower gate, advanced to the front of the messenger and bowed, with the Palace Official following. Next, the deputy messenger's attendant took the imperial edict, placed it in the viewing box, and handed it to Kataoka Negi. He advanced to the front of the temporary hall, placed a round cushion, and reverently viewed the imperial edict. At this time, the viewing box [was handed over] from the Palace Official
