【江戸時代には「しまひよどり」と呼ばれる唐土の鳥を飼育するのが流行したことがあり、掛け軸などに描かれたりもしている。特徴から考えてシロズキンヒヨドリ（黒ヒヨドリの白頭変種）だと考えられる。】

Keki (鵙) — [Japanese reading: Mozu], also known as 鷭#1 — 《Side note: The Yōshi Kango Shō reads "白労" as Hakurō / Mōzu; another source reads it as "鵙"》 — is the Hakurō (伯労).
The *Nihongi Shiki* states: [it is called] Mozutori (百舌鳥, "hundred-tongued bird").
Drawn from life on the 21st day of the intercalary 11th month of the year Mizunoe-Tatsu (壬辰), [Tenpō 3] (1832).
Li Shizhen described this bird [鵙] as an evil bird (悪鳥), a bird of ugly cry (悪声の鳥), one that stirs in response to the yin energy of autumn — a bird of cruel and harmful nature.
