【附札（回答）】
御使者・御音物等は一切ございません。御宿においても音物は決してございません。御上（幕府）の御役人方については、同心二人が宿に詰めております。ただし、両人が詰める旨はご届け申し上げております。
御上より内々に着物などをいただくことがありましたが、ただし役人たちの方でのことでございます。

However, if there are gifts (御音物), how would they be handled? Was it arranged so that the town would also present offerings and tributes, and [the officials] proceeded accordingly?

There were no messengers or gifts whatsoever. At the lodging as well, there were absolutely no gifts. Regarding the officials from the upper authority, two doshin (low-ranking officers) were stationed at the lodging. Note: The fact that both men were stationed was duly reported [to the relevant parties].
As for clothing given privately by the upper authority, that was a matter handled on the officials' side.

This was only at the toiya (transport office/post-town wholesaler). In general, it was only at the place where [the officials] lodged.
