現代語訳
神仏に祈り願うのは、心を清くし、邪念なく一心不乱に信心するならば、必ず霊験もあることである。しかし、自分勝手な無理な願をかけて、神仏を悪念の加担者にしようと願うのみならず、片方の心では三界の美しい女を見て心移りして邪念を起こす。そのような穢れた心では、いかほどお心よしの神仏にても、利益があるべき理由がない。
悪の首が言う：
「はてさて美しい娘じゃ。こちらを振り向いた。どうか俺に気があるような縁を作りたいが、善の首が拝んでいて手がふさがっているのが残念だ」
善の首が言う：
「家内繁栄、子孫繁栄、無病息災、悪事災難を免れさせてください。南無大悲観世音」
英語訳
When praying to gods and buddhas, if one purifies the heart and worships with single-minded devotion without evil thoughts, there will surely be divine blessings. However, if one makes selfish and unreasonable wishes, trying to make gods and buddhas accomplices to evil thoughts, and furthermore allows the heart to wander toward beautiful women of the three realms, harboring lustful thoughts - with such a defiled heart, no matter how benevolent the gods and buddhas may be, there can be no reason for receiving their benefits.
The evil head says:
"My, what a beautiful maiden! She turned to look this way. I wish I could create some connection so she might fancy me, but it's unfortunate that the good head is praying and my hands are occupied."
The good head says:
"Grant family prosperity, prosperity of descendants, good health and long life, and deliverance from evil deeds and disasters. Namu Daiki Kanzeon (Hail to the Great Compassionate Avalokiteshvara)."
