追伸申し上げます。一昨年、勘助様より金五両をお借りしておりました件につきまして、今回、五左衛門様がお受け取りになるとのことで、色々とご挨拶いただいておりますが、何卒この件については、今春中に御手船がお越しの際にご返済させていただく猶予をお与えいただきたく、お願い申し上げます。

I humbly request that you continue to conduct your trade with us in a prosperous manner. There is nothing else of particular note to report, but I wished to convey the above requests, and so I have written as such. I will continue to keep you informed as matters develop. Postscript: I humbly write to you regarding the matter of the five ryō in gold that was lent to us by Kansuke-sama the year before last. I understand that Gozaemon-sama has expressed his intention to collect this debt, and various courtesies have been exchanged regarding the matter. However, I most humbly request that you grant us an extension, allowing us to repay this amount when your vessel next calls upon us this coming spring.
