One entry: The date of death by illness, posthumous Buddhist name (hōmyō), and place of burial are all unknown. Second Generation: [Gō]bei / [Go]bei Mitsunao (Note: The text shows a correction — "Sōbei" was written then struck through and revised, possibly to "Gobei") Mother's family name: Unknown Wife: A daughter of the Shirato family On the 20th day of the 8th month of Genroku 16, the Year of the Sheep (1703), died of illness. Posthumous Buddhist name: Jōyo Hōgetsu. Place of burial: Bodaisan Gokurakuji Temple. [Left folio] One entry: In the 4th year of Keian, the Year of the Dragon (1651), month unknown, was granted a stipend of "Namino Gisaku" (a standard allotment), and was summoned into service as an o-kachi (foot soldier/attendant). Ono Kasuke Mitsushige (Original family name: Shirato. Original given name: Muemon. Born in Manji 1, the Year of the Dog [1658].) Mother: A daughter of the Shirato family. [Marginal note in red ink] On the 6th day of the 1st month of Hōei 5, the Year of the Rat (1708): It was reported that Ikari Kisōemon, the elder brother (義兄, brother-in-law or sworn brother) of Shirato Muemon, had committed some impropriety (fuchōhō) and received a reprimand from the domain. As a senior retainer of long standing, [Kisōemon] submitted a petition stating that he ought to refrain [from public activities] out of deference. In response, [the domain] conveyed to him that while official duties were a separate matter, he should conduct himself with restraint in private affairs. This account is found in the official diary (nikki). As a result of this record, it appears that Kasuke Mitsushige had an elder brother; however, since no such information has been transmitted within the family, this note has been appended here for reference.
