　屓鞠をけんとならは右の肩よりたの肩へまはりて
　おつる所を聊つきあけて身をよれはむねをさら〳〵と
　まはるを又ちとうつるさて身後のかたにをひて左へま
　はし二三度も蹴らは大事のわさなりとみえ侍也
　是この足は初心にてはおもひよらぬ事なるへし

一鞠長事
　さしたる秘事あるへからすたゝ一丈五尺式のまり
　たけなり但今すこしたかく二丈にをよふ程の鞠
　長も見侍る也堪能のなりにやゝもすれはまりたけ
　たかしを見てわかもとにてはたかく蹴之とも人に
　わたさむときゆめ〳〵まりたけたかくはあるへからす
　おほかたさのみたかきはさめて見ゆよく〳〵こゝ
　ろうへしむかし雲入とて成通卿おほたゝしく
　たかく蹴あけ侍まり雲に入てつゐにみゝにと
　なんかゝるふしきは中〳〵かきおきても詮なくや

一措開《割書：付向措｜》事
　つめ　らずたかふゆへに鞠にておつる物也人のまへに
　立ちふさかる人一會の違乱也我分時木のもとより

現代語訳

屓鞠を蹴ろうとするならば、右の肩から他の肩へ回って落ちる所を少し突き上げて身を寄せれば、胸をさらさらと回るのを、また少し移って身体の後ろの方に追って左へ回し、二三度も蹴れば大事な技であると見えます。これらの足技は初心者では思いもよらないことでしょう。

一、鞠長の事
さしたる秘事があるわけではありません。ただ一丈五尺程度の鞠の高さです。ただし今は少し高く、二丈に及ぶ程の鞠長も見ることがあります。堪能な人ほどややもすれば鞠の高さが高くなりがちで、若い者では高く蹴ることもありますが、人に渡そうとする時は決して鞠の高さを高くしてはいけません。大抵あまり高いのは冷めて見えるものです。よくよく心得るべきです。昔、雲入といって成通卿が大層高く蹴り上げた鞠が雲に入って、ついに見えなくなったということです。このような不思議なことは、なかなか書き記しても詮ないことでしょうか。

一、措開（付向措）の事
詰まらず、違うゆえに鞠によって落ちるものです。人の前に立ちふさがる人は一座の違乱です。我が分の時、木の元より

If one intends to kick a supported ball (hikyū), one should move from the right shoulder to the other shoulder, and where it falls, slightly push it up and bring the body closer. Then as it circles smoothly around the chest, move a bit more and pursue it toward the back of the body, turning left and kicking it two or three times - this appears to be an important technique. These foot techniques would be unthinkable for beginners.

1. On Ball Height (Maritak)
There are no particular secrets to this. It is simply a ball height of about one jō five shaku (approximately 4.5 meters). However, nowadays we sometimes see ball heights that are a bit higher, reaching about two jō (6 meters). The more skilled one becomes, the more likely the ball height tends to become high. While young people may kick high, when passing to others, one must never make the ball height too high. Generally, what is too high appears lackluster when viewed. One should understand this well. Long ago, there was something called "cloud entry" - Lord Narimitsu kicked a ball so extraordinarily high that it entered the clouds and finally disappeared from sight. Perhaps there is little point in recording such mysterious occurrences.
